@@samsfarminglife3244 Hi Sam. That must have been with young farmers. That’s brilliant. We have not had the young farmers here for some time now. We will have to invite them back.

Evening Richard Your 1 handed skills with the JCB are much appreciated as you bring us great videos I sympathise with the beep beep, I know how embarrassing it is, on the occasions I have to use my mobility scooter, health and safety dictate I have to have a reversing beeper, feel like Eddie Stobart driver's lol only definitely not on the same scale It's not Terry's it's Richard's lol You must be extremely happy, judging by your cows WOW, thank you for the shout out, very humbling, cheers Richard Careful with that bowser, people will think Simon's in training 🤔 😂 In the words of Joe, farmers helping farmer's, what a fantastic touch promoting Charlotte's food bank Christmas campaign Oh talking of Joe, have you been flying over his farm today, spying on him lol He mentioned as much on it video tonight lol The stock auctions always seem to have a great restaurant incorporated, can't beet a good breakfast They're worse than my old dog, clean bowl of water or a dirty puddle, puddle alway won lol Great mix of tasks again tonight Take care Simon and yourself Back UK farmer's 🇬🇧 Geoff

Geoff, Thanks for the kind words-it’s always great to hear you're enjoying the videos! The JCB is definitely getting some good practice in, and I’ve had to learn a thing or two about multitasking with one hand! As for the beep-beep, I completely understand how you feel with the mobility scooter-it’s one of those necessary evils, but at least we can laugh about it. Eddie Stobart vibes, indeed! 😂 The cows are looking well. It’s always a joy to see them content and thriving-it makes all the hard work worthwhile. And you’re right, it’s not Terry’s, it’s Richard’s! I might have to borrow that line for future use. The shout-out was well deserved, Geoff-you’ve been such a fantastic supporter, and it’s always appreciated. And yes, “farmers helping farmers” really is the spirit of it all. I think Charlotte’s campaign is an amazing cause, and it’s great to see the community rallying behind it. Haha, as for Joe, I’ve not been spying on him from above-though maybe I should invest in a drone for some undercover missions! 😉 He’s a good lad, and it’s always a laugh seeing what he’s up to on his videos. You’re spot on about those auction breakfasts-nothing beats a hearty meal to kickstart the day. Thanks again for your lovely message, Geoff. Take care, and keep backing British farmers! 🇬🇧 All the best, Richard

@@yorkshirefarming Any chance of a tour of the old parlour in a video?
@yorkshirefarming5 күн бұрын
@ WOW Dave. Absolutely no problem at all. I will work it into one of the next videos. It’s not much to see. It’s just an old 5/10 fullwood. It’s a bit tiered looking. It’s for sale as parts in your interested 🤣.

Hi Richard contented cows give most milk,great video again.
@yorkshirefarming8 күн бұрын
@@KeithHill-wc3ew Keith they definitely do. Keeping them tight on feed and constantly pushing them around doesn’t. They just love to be left alone to do their own thing. Cows amaze us every day. The behaviour is fascinating. 😄

Great video again, a diet feeder would cost to start with but the amount of feed saved and the possible increase in milk through them having a correct balance maintenance diet would help pay for the feeder. Also would save silage and goes further. Can’t you buy a longer neck for slurry tank to spray it further. Isn’t the maize used by shoots to feed there birds and for them to shelter in ?
@yorkshirefarming7 күн бұрын
Earle. Your advice is appreciated. Thinking forward it will be something we may invest in the future. It is worth working out the costs to see if will be effective for us.

Feeder wagon Will it improve the mixing of feed which could improve output but at what cost , Wagon / tractor to pulling it depreciation/ maintenance costs
@yorkshirefarming8 күн бұрын
@@bobcrawford2105 That has always been our concern about the running costs. They would, wit the correct diet definitely improve out put. We think we would need +3 lts/cow to just cover the cost before it starts to pay for its self. Cows would definitely benefit from a well balanced diet. It’s down to number crunching
@bobcrawford21058 күн бұрын
@ would save time in your daily routine. Time is money
@yorkshirefarming8 күн бұрын
@ yes that is also true. It’s, are we a large enough farm to justify a diet feeder. I personally would love to try one over the winter to get a better feel for it. Maybe I can find a cheap second hand one somewhere. But maybe buy someone’s problems
@davidkellet10066 күн бұрын
The more stuff you add the bigger problem when they break joe seels mid rotary broke he had to hire 1 or borrow
@yorkshirefarming6 күн бұрын
David. That is so true. I think that is why we have committed ourselves to purchase a diet feeder. It works very well the way we feed with the JCB bucket. Buying second hand means we are buying someone else’s problems.
