GIS Integrations for Smart City of Memphis Plan

With the internet of things growing expeditiously and many of the City of Memphis Departments purchasing software to meet their operational needs, the opportunity for integration is very abundant. The City of Memphis EGIS team has stepped to this challenge by leveraging our development abilities to bring the numerous systems into the centralized and intuitive ArcGIS environment. Collecting this data in a centralized database allows EGIS to analyze the data with the work order management systems to ask cross-departmental questions that provide our administration and decision-makers valuable insight that may have been overlooked from siloed perspective.
We have integrated with some of the city’s most prominent systems, including EdgeFrontier (911), Samsara, Waze, and Oracle’s parent database. While the methods of integration differ, the mission is always the same. “Present our data in a quick, intuitive format that allows our department to make data-driven decisions.” In this webinar, we will discuss some of our integration methods and the possibilities when departments eliminate data silos to guide the City of Memphis in the direction of a smart city.
Joseph Roberts is a passionate GIS analyst/developer with seven years of professional experience in public and private GIS industries. As a self-taught developer, Joseph takes pride in integrating software with ArcGIS and automating workflows to increase efficiencies for the clients he serves. Currently, as the EGIS Team Lead for the City of Memphis, his contributions are using AGILE to manage the high demand for GIS within the city while also focusing on eliminating departmental data silos and simplifying software for the City of Memphis employees.
