My parents are both one of 8 and 9 siblings and my grandmothers gave birth into their 40s without IVF… people from big religious families like mine are VERY aware that women can have babies later in life 😂. How else can you have that many kids?? People only think it’s impossible because most +40yo women are not even trying to get pregnant. The women struggling to have their FIRST child at 40 probably would've had the same fertility issues in their 20s and 30s-- they likely had no idea they had fertility issues until then. There are women in their 20s who still struggle to get pregnant. My coworker is one of them and she started IVF a few months ago, which is covered by our company's insurance. sometimes men and women are just born with fertility issues. I also know someone whose husband needed to get surgery so she could conceive-- it turned out he was born with a reproductive issue that caused him to shoot blanks and it was a very simple surgery.
