What is -u do in the Push command? What else beside the letter u can be used? Where can I read up more on it? I searched but did not see anything.
@RaghavPal Жыл бұрын
The `-u` flag in the `git push` command tells Git to set up a "push upstream" relationship between the current branch and the remote branch that you are pushing to. This means that Git will automatically keep the two branches in sync whenever you push or pull changes. For example, if you have a local branch called `master` and you push it to a remote repository called `origin`, you can use the `-u` flag to set up a push upstream relationship between `master` and the `origin/master` branch. This means that whenever you push changes to `master`, Git will also push those changes to `origin/master`. The `-u` flag can also be used to set up push upstream relationships between other branches, such as `develop` and `origin/develop`. Here is an example of how to use the `-u` flag in the `git push` command: ``` git push -u origin master ``` This command will push the `master` branch to the `origin` repository and set up a push upstream relationship between `master` and the `origin/master` branch. Here are some other flags that can be used with the `git push` command: * `-f`: Force the push, even if there are conflicts. * `-v`: Verbose output, showing the details of the push. * `-n`: Dry run, show what would be pushed without actually doing it. You can learn more about the `git push` command in the Git documentation: git-scm.com/docs/git-push.

I will assume I did something incorrectly, but my screen indicates 2-branches, Main and Master. Is this correct? Should I see the Main repo?
@RaghavPal Жыл бұрын
Hi Mike, You can use the following Git command to list all branches with details: git branch -vv This command shows the list of all local branches and their relationship with the remote branches, including the latest commit on each branch. In the output, the asterisk (*) indicates the current branch. The first column shows the branch name, followed by the latest commit hash and the tracking branch (if available) in square brackets. The last column shows the commit message.

In the left sidebar, click Developer settings. 5. In the left sidebar, click Personal access tokens. 6. Click Generate new token. 7. Give your token a descriptive name. 8. To give your token an expiration, select the Expiration drop-down menu, then click a default or use the calendar picker 9. Select the scopes, or permissions, you'd like to grant this token.
