What farmer get and what an end consumer pay in urban area is very large. The middlemen between the farmer and the consumer in Urban area need to urgently corrected and it is then only that rural income will increase.
@MegaSpassky5 жыл бұрын
Every political party in India supports this middlemen system...in 1977 I expected Left Front Government in West Bengal would form Farmers' cooperative for marketing their products and open their shops in every market. Instead it allowed a small partner of the front to control the markets. That party was known to be middlemen's party. Even it opposed opening of Metro Cash and Carry, a wholesaler (for retailers) in WB. Now. the same middlemen system is going on in WB under another party. But now the e-commerce companies are selling groceries and vegetables in urban areas. I hope these will eliminate a large numbers of middlemen from the system.
@muraliranga5 жыл бұрын
India is a country of middlemen, traders. No interest in innovation or creation. Just print invoices and pocket the extortionary profits. People with cash wins it all. No wonder so many people are against less-cash economy. My point is middlemen are here to stay. Another point is disproportionate focus and importance to corporate sector and financial sectors. The real-economy is agriculture, manufacturing, housing and infra. These create assets which in turn create further wealth in a cascading effect. The financial institutions merely slosh without really creating assets (other than NOA) or wealth.

@@muraliranga Business people many but Mr Bajaj and Hindujas are vocal about bureaucrats being aggressive and even harassing business people. No doubt , there should be no harassment but at the same time even Mr Hindujas brother admitted in an interview on ET Now that it takes time for culture to change. Business class in India for decades is used to doing business offline with Government knowing nothing much about their turnover and profit. But , now things have changed and should change even further. Business should be transparent and honesty should prevail, otherwise why anybody would invest ( investor in share market - domestic and international). There is a culture to take loan and not return. There is a culture to hide money from the Government and income tax department. There is a culture to bribe politicians and bureaucrats and do what ever you want ( NANAGA NACH)

Problem of India, unique to us, is the implementation machinery of the policy. Policy changes of Modi Govt. have been fantastic and very positive, but the implementation has been screwed up terribly!, the problem lies with the corruption & inefficiency lead Babudom, lead by a control freak, corruption prone top Bureaucracy. This is one area which needs drastic improvement and reforms which Modi has failed to do, though he has taken many initiatives like compulsory retirement of known corrupt Babus, but has failed to put fear of God into them as Indira Gandhi did during Emergency. Danda is the only language that the Babus understand, nothing else will suffice. Technology is a good alternative, but that too can be sabotaged by wily bureaucrats, Hence a Big Danda is the only way.

The Banks arent pasing the lower rates to the consumers because? The Banks get a better return on paper inflated by the mechanisms by which the lower rates are obtained? Hence no more EQ but it would be much better to devalue the paper by printning more paper via domestic government wage inflation? Min wage or basic income? I just guess local investors wont allow it.. and its outside IMFs juristiction, or could IMF provide a SDR account for every Human with equal income if it wanted to..

When the bulk of fiscal investments infused into the economy which can change the structure of the country, we can experience short run structural unemployment ,disappeared in the long run, which mostly not ocuured in the developed economies, apart from this cyclical unemployment common to all. for eg due to mechanization of agriculture ,some people loose their jobs in the short run, in the long run they will be familiar with the usage of new innovations and technogy, then they will get employment.

How much ever increase in farm productivity, the farmer never really benefits from it as the markets are driven by traders. And you know how that works. Besides higher productivity requires higher investments for the farmer. It is better for the farmer to focus on lower cost production and lower risk than pander to higher productivity which only benefits the trader, the food processors, retailers, consumer and the govt., all of who don't give a damn about the farmer as seen in the last 40 years. In fact low productivity will generate better prices for farmers due to demand supply price increase.

She has been in the US for a much longer period. She is not as young as you may be assuming. Also she has to interact a lot with a much more diverse group of people on a daily basis.
