The alternate versions are triggered by chance, it's always different. There's a small chance that it might depend on the damage you did to your opponent, but I don't think that's the case. The guy in this video got the sanbone trio final because he played as them in versus mode and won.

The game seems to have a number of different 'paths' the song can go. And honestly, I think that decision to take which path is largely random.

I hate to ask for help in a KZbin video, but how do you get these alternate versions? I'm on Gregorio and half the time the song branches off differently.

I know it's old but these are the master version songs. You have to beat the story to unlock master mode.

Master mode is just the same song but harder, each song has 2 versions. The difference is the ending, which can be found in vs mode by being player 2 and beating player one
