Hello everyone, I propose you my personal rendition in French and English of the iconic song "Les Feuilles Mortes" (Autumn Leaves) composed by Joseph Kosma on verses by the French poet Jacques Prévert for the soundtrack of the 1946 film "Les portes de la nuit" (Gates of the Night) directed by Marcel Carné made famous by the interpretation of Yves Montand, here at his film debut. The song became an international hit and a jazz standard, in 1949 Johnny Mercer wrote the words in English and changed the title to "Autumn Leaves" which is also the title of the homonymous film released in 1956. Over the decades, many versions of the song have been produced in various languages and by several nations. It was played by the greats of jazz such as Miles Davis, Michel Petrucciani, Chet Baker, Keith Jarrett, and sung by Edith Piaf, Juliette Gréco, Dalida, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Barbra Streisand, Eric Clapton, Andrea Bocelli, Patty Pravo and many others.
