■About Giuseppe Albanese
Winner of the "Venice Prize" in 1997 and Special Prize for the best performance of contemporary work at the "Busoni Competition" in Bolzano, Giuseppe Albanese definitely came to the attention of international critics in 2003 with the first prize at the prestigious "Vendome Prize". Since then, his concert career knows no boundaries. He has been invited for recitals and concerts by authoritative international institutions: to name just a few, the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the Philharmonic of St. Petersburg, the Salle Cortot in Paris, the Konzert Haus in Berlin. In Italy, he played for all the most important concert seasons and theatres. Remarkable are the awards for his recording activity. In 2014 he began his collaboration with Deutsche Grammophon, publishing "Fantasia", "concept album" with music by Beethoven, Schubert and Schumann. Again for DG, in 2015, he released "Après une lecture de Liszt", entirely dedicated to the Hungarian composer. In March 2016 his world premiere recording of the "Valtozatok" (Variations) was chosen by Decca for the box on Bartók's Opera Omnia. Liszt's Concerti nn. 1 and 2 and "Malédiction" for Universal Music have recently been published. In January 2020 he released his third CD for Deutsche Grammophon: "Invitation to the dance", the subject of this evening's program. Graduated in Philosophy with full honours, at the age of 25 he was a contract professor of "Methodology of musical communication" at the University of Messina. He is a piano professor at the "Tartini" conservatory in Trieste.

What a wonderful rendition of a great masterpiece. i love the emotion and the crafted, nuanced delivery. Giuseppe is a wonderful pianist who communicates so much. His technique is so impressive. So well worked. Wow! Bravo!
