I always felt that Giacomini not Carreras should have been the third tenor in the Three Tenors! Here was a true Dramatic Tenor of beauty and power not a light weight lyric masquerading as a spinto! Carreras had a sweet and engaging sound in his early career but was never a powerhouse tenor. Giacomini was a powerhouse and sang the big roles with skill!
