Rik Wolters When I say EDM I’m referring to the cheesy commercial bollocks that defiantly isn’t trance. GO certainly doesn’t play any of that he is pure trance and I love him for it. I first saw Armin play in 98 at his first ever gig in the uk and his trance sound literally shaped my passion for trance till this day. I’m not gonna lie some of the stuff Armin plays and produces now drives me nuts because I know he can be so much better. Just my opinion mate.

Rik Wolters the commercial tag comes from dj that’s we’re once underground trance djs that would never play anything considered main stream chart music. Some of those dj such as Armin and tiesto now make tracks that are designed purely to appeal to the masses. When DJ start doing that they lose there appeal and I question there motives. For me it should be about the music not how much money the record can make.

Rik Wolters glad we agree on tiesto I think Unfortunately Armin is heading down the same path. Armin has a massive team behind him and they all need to earn a wage so the more commercial non trance tracks bring that money in. Armin might not care about the money but his managment team and staff certainly do and must influence the music he produces. He’s still a legend in my eyes just miss the old Armin and cringe at tracks like blah blah blah.

Rik Wolters I’ve been raving since 95 and my observation of current trends is this. The dj becomes so big they end up being a brand not a dj anymore tiesto and Armin are the two biggest examples of this in my opinion. It doesn’t have to be this way though pvd, Carl cox, Sasha, digweed, richy Hawkins to name a few are examples of staying true to there underground routes while still pushing the music forward without selling out.

Andrea Attanasio purtroppo non è possibile tornare indietro, anche se non ho vissuto la trance negli anni 90 essendo nato nel 2000 amo questo genere, ho fatto il dj da quando avevo 13 anni ed ora produco solo ed esclusivamente trance. Purtroppo la cultura della musica elettronica in Italia non esiste. Speriamo che siano i pochi come noi a portare il cambiamento
