Bill Sprouse was my friend and a most humble Godly young man who loved all God's people no matter who they were. He was NEVER a respecter of Persons and would reach out to everyone. Shockingly he passed while taking a shower in his rented home with other fine Christian brothers. I shall never forget those blessed early days at Calvary with Bill,Oden and Mustard Seed faith, Tom Stipes and his Wing and a Prayer band, Love Song, Children of the Day and all the rest who helped make Calvary Chapel of Santa Ana truly the Limozine of churches! God's Spirit Through all the ministries there drew the lost in quickly and powerfully with amazing Joy like no other church i have ever seen or heard could do. God blessed Papa /Pastor Chuck like none other, BECAUSE WHEN GOD GUIDES, GOD PROVIDES! Thank you Jesus for taking OUR BELOVED BIG BILL straight to live with You forever in Heaven with our Holy Father GOD.

This is the 1st song I learned at Calvary Chapel Riverside in 1975 and it still resonates loud and clear today. Whenever I hear it or sing along, even today, I get goose bumps as I feel the presence of God. It was on a Wednesday evening service and Bryan Duncan sang it as a tribute to the recent death of Bill Sprouse. Come Quickly Lord Jesus -Maranatha-

God Bless Bill, The Road Home, and all the Spirit filled musicians that God used so mightily in the early 1970. It was at a Saturday night concert in the big tent that I heard Tom Stipes share the Word of God and I went forward and accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior.

God's Word does not return to Him void, but it accomplishes that which He set it out to do (my paraphrase). In this Spirit led song, God's Word truly accomplishes His will! It draws us to Himself!

The first time I heard this song from a Maranatha Singers album in or around 1976... It blessed me so much that I have never forgotten the lyrics (Psalm 5:1-3 KJV) of the songs and have prayed it many times in my life as a Christian... Bless the LORD for His word that delivers us... 😎👍

The writer of this died shortly after it was recorded. (R.I.P., Big Bill! :) I found it as soon as I typed "Bill Sprouse" into Google...got the title off an old "Maranatha" compilation. The cover is an interesting painting of a young "soda jerk" relaxing in a juke box joint after hours. He is behind the counter with his fizzy glass in hand & sees a couple of angels clapping by the juke box that has lit up with MARANATHA lighting up on it & presumably playing the Lord's Music that can be heard on the album! A friend gave it to me for the picture when I said I liked it, but I never had heard any of the songs inside, so I looked them up on the net today, hardly expecting any joy, but I sure found some! (:D

the album was a compilation out of "Maranatha Music called Maranatha 5, one of my first albums as a Christian (circa 1978 for me). awesome collection of music. Still have a cassette!

I had this song on an old Maranatha vinyl album. I seem to remember hearing that the guy who put the music to this psalm passed away soon afterward.

@Keith, yes, Bill passed away right after recording his vocal and keyboards. The background vocals and other instruments were added after, and included in the compilation album, Maranatha! 5. www.danielamos.com/articles/roadhome.html
