I saw Shelley in his Zip incarnation on a bill with The Fall and John Cooper Clarke at Salford Uni Maxwell Hall in 88. For encores, Shelley would do solo acoustic Buzzcocks songs. This night he played What Do I Get but his guitar packed in as he played Ever Fallen in Love. Undaunted Pete stashed the guitar and faced the crowd. “I can do it a Capella, but you’l have to do the guitar bits”. So he sang while we all went “ Na na na, na na na” What a trouper

one of those beautiful meetings of one good thing with another...the late 80's mixing of these dance beats with the discovery of how cool the Tour De France could be...(we ought to have learnt in 83 after Kraftwerk). The other example from that time was the coolness of Downhill Skiing when mixed with Human League "The things that dreams are made of"...
