My family put the 'funk' in dysfunctional. As a teenager I was only brought up to believe how stupid I was. I did very poorly in school and barely passed high school. When I was 18 the first thing I did was move in with my grandmother here in Virginia. It is a country place and there was much love and warmth about the place. I started putting in job applications praying that the first people who would call would be the Lord's answer for me. I also prayed for a specific wage of $5 an hour. I got on weeks later at a factory paying $5.05 an hour (who hoo! 5 cents more!) and have worked my way up into the Laboratory. Having my faith encouraged, I went back to school and got 2 associates degrees, Magna Cum Laude, 3.8 GPA, Who's Who award, and won first place in a University programming contest. I hope you also are doing things to put your faith to work and I will remember you in my prayers. God Bless!
