I've been following your videos at the same time as doing both adventures books and they've helped loads!! I need advice here though, when you say it is in the g major scale, i thought the keys would be mainly in that scale, but with the thumb placement starting on D, why is it not D major?

Thanks for following! As you get into more advanced pieces, you'll notice that pieces don't always start in the usual 5-finger scale position that you learned in easier pieces. The starting notes for Give My Regards to Broadway are G and B in the left hand with D in the right hand. These three notes make a G chord which signals that the song is in the key of G. Also, D Major has two sharps (F# and C#). The key signature of this song has one sharp, F#.

I think you may need a different video. This video is for the Accelerated Piano Adventures. I think you want to watch the one from Adult Piano Adventures level 2: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nISbqaGGi9KSldU. The music in the linked video is in F Major with a key signature of Bb. This video is in G Major with a key signature of F#. They are two different arrangements of the song.

@KarenRockMusic Thank you. I am using Adult Piano All in one piano course level 2. I saw my piano teacher Ms J. this morning. She told me the song in my book is F major with b flat. Your video is for another book, in which, the song has a different key signature. Thanks for telling me. I am bad in music theory.😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫
