Awesome video James and you are also one of the very few who actually appreciated the flashback scene. Yes, its important for Ram's character. At first everyone thinks Ram is a villain as he is an officer for the British raj. But this back story is so much needed to know why he is doing what he is doing. You can actually see his face everytime he beats the indians or Bheem that he is shutting off his emotions to concentrate on the greater good. I mean, he watched his mother and brother shot dead, he had to kill his own father in a suicide bomb blast to make kill count. Even when he tried to save Malli from being shot, Bheem thought he was gonna kill her and he just beat him brutally..ofcourse Bheem deserves the sympathy for what he went through, but Ram does even more.

@@ReelJames its hard to choose one. The standout for me was Ram with Bow and Arrow in the attire of the freedom fighter 'Alluri Sitaramaraju' with Sanskrit lyrics describing the beauty of the Sri Rama Avatar of Mahavishnu. The theatre response was sick. As a person who know the history of 'Sitaramaraju' and the story of 'Sri Rama' from the Indian epics/Scriptures that scene brought forward a weird mix of emotion and devotion in me. Fun fact: in the epic of Ramayana (the story of the Prince Rama, Avatar of Mahavishnu) he married Sita (avatar of Mahalakshmi). Similarly in real life the freedom fighter Alluri Ramaraju married a women named Sita, when she passed away he added her name with his making it Alluri Sitaramaraju.

@@ReelJames those movies especially Magadheera are not as perfect as RRR, so its better to keep the expectations low. Indians loved Bahubali more because of the culture and the epic scale. The janky line delivery by the non indian actors is a deliberate choice by the director. Even though majority of indians can understand english language just fine, the people from rural areas may not be able to follow if they speak in their normal british accent (and fast). Both Ram and Bheem are modern historical figures as depicted in movies but they are also inspired from ancient historical characteristics of Shri Rama (from Ramayana Era) and Mighty Bheem (from Mahabharat Era) that's the reason why Bheema can lift motorcycle because according to Mahabharat, Bheema can crush mountains and 🐘 with his single punch. And Rama dressed liked that statue (idol from where he gets his 🏹) of ancient Indian Rama. You should read the lyrics of song playing in background music in last forest battle. That score describes the characteristics of both ancient historical figures.❤️♦️

Would definetly recommend reacting to SS Rajamouli's other films such as Baahubali or Eega which are also AMAZING films

You will truly enjoy Drishyam. The original version in Malayalam is on KZbin with subtitles but there is a Hindi remake on KZbin that is almost as good. It's slower and more of a thriller but you'll love it.

I think british actors were supposed to be caricaturish because that wasn’t the main conflict in the movie and therefore SSR wanted it to be as direct as possible

Great analysis! I read somewhere a comment for a crossover of predator with Bheem as solo hero film,Bheem is from jungle , good fighting skills , knows jungle inside out and faces predator in jungle just like the movie prey released this year, that would be insane!
@whitemike1221able2 жыл бұрын
Oh my God!? I don't think I've ever wanted to see a movie more lmao. Bheem would wreck the predator so we may need 2 or 3 of them. Starts with a predator hunting him, gets wrecked, then 3 come to claim his body but Bheem goes "home alone" meets "John wick" and I take my pants off 🤣. Take my money!

I wud recommend you another three Great Indian movies 1) One-Nenokkadine ...it is the perhaps one of the best psychological thriller movie from India 2) Kantara 3) Vaaranam aayiram .....It is the best 'Coming of age' genre movies you get to see from India, very few filmmakers have touched that genre here 4) Vishwaroopam (Made by Kamal haasan who is like Marlon Brando to India)
@ReelJames2 жыл бұрын
Wow! This is awesome! Thank you for the recommendations, Girish. I've noticed others in the comments have recommended movies, as well, and I'm excited to watch them! What did you think about RRR?
@girishchandra89962 жыл бұрын
@@ReelJames This might sound shocking to you - many Indians disliked RRR because they have already watched better masala movies than it in the past, it is not new to us...I think in RRR the action set pieces are wonderful when watched individually than as whole movie together....Rajamouli's past movies like Bahubali, Eega, Vikramarkudu, Maryada ramanna were more satisfying emotionally as a whole than this..RRR is a 'masala' film, a typical Indian(predominantly telugu) way of filmmaking where multiple genres are blended together in a single movie to give the wholsesome experience...KGF 2 was released just a month after RRR but it was way more emotionally satisfying that it even surpassed RRR commercially....Since the West is new to our cinema they are being spellbound by RRR but there are many more amazing movies than it here..RRR is great but not the greatest! If it wins Oscars, Golden globes it will bring validation and attention towards Indian cinema which already has lots of amazing movies to be discovered and experienced!

You said in the cons section that it took a while to get going. But then you mention in the pros section how strong it is out of the gate. I agree with it developing more later, but it goes pretty hard from the start.
