The theme tune heard here was introduced from Series 4 (1981) until 1987 when it was replaced by the vocalised theme tune.

@@wiltner I wouldn't call Tracey Ullman brilliant. From what I've seen of her American show it's very average and she seems to have a big ego going by the way she behaved in a documentary on Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais. Lots of mediocre shows become popular in the USA. And in the UK as well of course.

I believe Una stayed on and did 1 or 2 seasons with Michael Parkinson.
