3:58:22 This directly goes against your argument of "thinking for yourself." Saying, "You don’t put blind faith in corrupt men; you always put your faith in God," overlooks the fact that religion as a whole is interpreted by people. All religious scriptures are translated by humans, and we can never be certain how much they may have misinterpreted or altered them to fit their narratives thought millennia. Essentially, you are also placing faith in the product of human interpretation. People, in turn, are products of their own biases and environments, and we can never fully control our biology and biases since we are flawed by design. There is no way to verify every piece of information, so labeling someone from an isolated and brainwashed society as dumb because they don’t share your perspective-especially when they are open to changing their views after gaining a broader understanding-is condescending and pointless. It’s also hypocritical, given the "you always put your faith in God" part. We are flawed and biases so the true objectivity doesn't exist. Math is the thing that is the closest to objectivity but even in math there is human factor in it.

Read the Bible before you yap this long. Technically speaking, religion has NOTHING to do with God. Where, in the Bible, does it tell you to be a “Christian?” You’re suppose to have faith in God and his law. Nothing else. God isn’t flawed. Period.

@@devosr.2617 You addressed nothing what i said. I never mentioned Christianity it in my original post. It was focused on the broader issue of belief systems. How can you bring the concept of "thinking for yourself" when you base your beliefs on texts that were written by others and was passed and translated thought millennia?

@@devosr.2617 1) Then you would still be making a relative interpretation, based on *your* understanding of God and His law. 2) You would be putting blind faith into the Bible, especially the *current* Bible, being a true and complete Word of God. Which is unjustified, given how what are the chapters included and what is just "apocrypha" has been decided by fallible and politically biased Jewish, and then Roman, clerical authorities. Christians had to invent the very convenient idea of biblical inerrancy... which is not supported by the Bible itself and is contrary to Free Will.

man all that religion talk about the folks in rinascita turned into a deep one. at one point, i have to agree with smack. those people are dumb to keep falling for those lies. but looking back, at the beginning of the story where you first met christof, there was a guy who rebel against one of the acolyte but got no choice but to obey in the end. there is something going on in that city. it almost like you were held a hostage along with your family in the same room. even though you have the will and power to fight back, you know there's a chance your choice may end up hurting your family. everybody has willpower and strength to do anything, until they got hold at gun point. it was not only the doctrine, but those guys who became the acolyte and even the primus has already built their own "little kingdom" until it was too late for the people to fight back. and that's why they need an outsider, someone who clearly neutral in all that and able to solve their problem. because those folks doesn't have the ability to fight back anymore. in this case looking at real life, that's why professions such as lawyer, police, psychologist etc. exists. and if everybody has the will and power to do anything, then humans doesn't need to rely on each other to survive. heck, even relying on God.

Honestly, I think a lot of gacha games have this problem. They put too much effort into having the playable characters on the screen as much as possible, that they never even really have time to actually show the effects of what's going on for the people in the actual city who can't do anything to fight back like the playable characters can. It's a constant back and forth with these games of them wanting to tell a story that effects the entire nation that it's set in, but also having to focus on just a few characters, because that's the main product of the game. That being said, I don't think it's necessarily a bad story even with this fact. People's freedom being restricted is bad in general, and it *can* hold weight without showing specifically how that effects the people on the nation, because it's universally a known fact that people should be able to do what they want. Is it bad that they didn't show it, yes, but I think to give them a little credit, it doesn't make the story insanely worse off or anything, mostly due to what specifically they chose to be the problem in the city. What it does lose is connection though, we understand that it's bad, but we can't feel direct empathy for the people of Rinascita because we're not being directly told what they're going through from them. It's unfortunate. Btw, what would you actually rate the story itself, cause I personally think it's like a good 7.5/10, as the quality is clearly there, and the story direction was mostly consistent.

@izzyyheree even then the chara themselves about freedom without corrupted religion just didn't work Mainly with carlotta, where she just says that it's keeping her and everyone trapped without actually showing how it is for her🤷♀️ It was a very shoehorned thing in for her character that they didn't care to expand upon in the story, u only get some extra context if u watch her trailer

You can actually find its effects on people but yiu have to go out your way and interact with the people instead of following the main story. There was this one little girl npc that commited a crime to get on the pilgrim ship cuz her brother was put in one or the Echo that apparently mimicd the curses of the residents towards the Order
