Giveh Senejan is one of the best traditional Iranian shoes that are still used by farmers in the villages.
In the old days, there were many craftsmen in this village, but now few of them have this skill, the production of this traditional shoe is a joint work of the women and men of the village, the women weave the upper part of the Giveh at home. And the men weave the bottom part of the Giveh and finally connect it together.
They use a big needle and thick cotton thread to weave the leather sole. It is interesting that the sole of the Giveh is leather, while fabric strips are used in most parts of Iran.
Here is the workshop of Abdullah Goli known as Abdullah Gol, one of the last Giveh manufacturers in Senejan. He tries to hire skilled weavers and sell their handmade products. With his efforts, the product produced in his workshop has become global and has been recognized by UNESCO.
