This one is definitely a classic, perhaps you might consider a throwback tour of some well know tried and true classics like boucheron pour home Edp. That, like givenchy is a classy yet classic fragrance. Just a thought. Love your review of this one

I might be boring, however, I almost always come back on this EdT, simply amazing. What I did lately, I added some molecule 03 (vetiver) to pull it a tiny bit away from the strong patchouli.

That bottle and box is NOT from the 70's. The 70's bottle had a chrome atomizer, rounded shoulders, and the box was black with White Gs. I bought a 3.3oz bottle every two months for several years and the scent has NEVER been duplicated since the box was redesigned.

This gets compared to Hugo Boss #1 but I think Hugo Boss #1 is better than Givenchy Gentleman in my opinion because it’s less oakmossy and bitter while Hugo Boss is more sweeter with the honey, woods, and the cinnamon love wearing it in the fall.

@sambutler.4388 Sry, the GG 1974 formulation is the better fragrance. Got Boss by Hugo Boss (Boss #1), Boss Spirit and of course Givenchy Gentleman all three in original formulations, nothing comes close to Givenchy Gentleman. Few fragrances ever made for men since 1963 come close to this masterpiece. I might as well get a spray right now.

Young man, my 1974 bottle against all those overpriced and overhyped Rojas and Initios you've got behind you. I guarantee you my 1974 GG destroys them all. Listen here young man, the 74 bottle against any fragrance made for men in the last 60 years. Just a few fragrances come close to this glorious fragrance, and they are; Héritage Guerlain 1992/mid 93 bottle, mid 1980's Amouage Gold Man and of course, Mouchoir de Monsieur. Case closed.
