I get a strong Whiskey note immediately...and to my nose it's 'front & centre'.....! It then fades into the background after 15-20 mins, where the Iris & Chestnut comes to the fore...!

I have DHI & just bought this. I’m pretty new to Iris. Out the gate I get a Beautiful Whiskey & Iris Blast. Then 15 mins later the whiskey takes a backseat, it then actually smells to me a lot like Cuba Gold. I was thinking this would be a more masculine DHI when in fact DHI is more masculine than this fragrance. It doesn’t project nearly like DHI. It’s a semiformal-ish feel & being I don’t find myself at dressy events often, I’d want something like DHI that projects in those situations. This quickly becomes a close to the skin scent. Wear this in the fall/winter when you’re having friends come over for a dinner party… I’m sure it’ll grow on me & it’s not bad, I just currently don’t love it like I imagined I would.

This one for night time, the EDT during the day, the EDP in the early evening. Absolute bangers. I have Boise, which I also like, but I find myself just wearing the EDT during the day, then this one at night and call it a day.

I've tried this parfum before buying it to see if it sticks to my skin. It's been 2 days and I shower every night, it's fine but I can still smell woody whisky on my arm. love it!

Blind bought this because of you , so far it’s not bad , a little different from what I’m use too. Dont get me wrong I keep smelling my arm , it smells intoxicating , very deep and warm. Very loud opening , after 30 mins of it drying down the smell is fantastic. I will def try this at night

Already had the Boisèe and loved it from the start. The Réserve Privée is not really "better" imho. It's different. It's the perfect addition to the line, especially if you skipped the EDP (like I did). It's quite special with that nutty whisky note and well balanced. And I always thought I wasn't that much into sweeter/gourmand fragrances... At least until I got to know the Gentleman line. 😎

Yeah, I'm not a gourmand fan either but I absolutely love EDP and the cologne. I even dig the OG reimagined 2016 EDT, though that doesn't really fall into the gourmand category.

@@leomedrano3332 No, not at all. The Réserve Privée is sweeter and more on the gourmandy side of things while the Boisèe is more elegant and balanced. There's quite a difference imho. Try before you buy!

Got this Prive Reservee and ABSOLUTELY love it. Thanks for recommendations Sir. It is a great option to contrast with the Dior Fahrenheit Perfum. Love them both.

I have a great new content idea! 1st: call for selfies showing their personal style and fashion. 2nd: you suggest a cologne based on what you get from the picture. It could be a suggestion per the current season, a versatile signature scent, or via a request with the picture. I think ppl would love this. I've tried this already. It reminds me very much of the Armani. Stronger With You, Intensely on my skin. I really didn't get the Iris/Orris on my skin.

I purchased the edp and had already Dior Intense, so that was my first introduction to the Iris note, so when I got the edp as they had no tester i was smashed with Iris bomb and didn't really dig it, so chsnged it to the boisee and bingo that hooked me great scent still with that Iris that I have now grown on , so as soon as I saw the Dept Store had this release I had to get it and man not dissapointed at all, for me Sauvage and Sauvage Elixer were my go too fragrances of over say 55 bottle's but the Givenchy line ive learnt is the king of Iris and Iris itself has grown on me big time, its different to Dior Homme Intense, thats the more lipstick iris but Givenchy is straight out Bang Iris , so it was a lesening curb for me now i may even go back and purchase the EDp.

I've sampled this twice but not had chance to wear it on skin and I just don't really like it even tho I want to just by the hype. I like dior homme parfum and the Valentino Uno intense but just can't get this 😒 I smelled this and the new Armani Code Parfum yesterday and would choose the Armani any day for my taste. Especially that dry down! Idk

Dig This ,… put couple sprays of reserve privee on back of each hand then applied couple sprays of Terra Nova on the top of the privee on left hand,.. asked my wife which she preferred and she said the privee on its own was nice but the other hand with both privee and Terra Nova was ,.. better.. so there’s that 😎 🫶 try the combo if you haven’t already ✅ I put the Terra nova on top of the reserve . Next time I’ll try putting TN on bottom and RP on top see what that does

While I'll agree that this is a great release, it's far more similar to Dior Homme Intense than Gentleman EDP. To me Reserve Privée just isn't a very original release. You'll have to go step over my dead body to convince me that this is better than Gentleman EDP; I find the EDP far more interesting, it has a fascinating animalistic & resinous side that's missing from Réserve Privée.

I find it amazing that no one can talk about the Valentino Uomo line without HAVING to mention The Dior Homme line (and rightly so!)...yet Givenchy Gentleman line "appears" to get a pass in the main ... Sure, if you like iris it's a great line and if you're relatively new to fragrances, then might be natural to dive in here instead of Dior but let's be honest ......it's just Valentino Uomo 2.0! Nice fragrances but nothing new and certainly not original. Not worth the hype imo....Dior already did it well and I think the Valentino twist is better than Givenchy's. If you have any iteration of Dior Homme/Valentino Uomo, you really don't need this. But it is pleasant 😊

I'm finding that I'm the only person on the planet that really dislikes this fragrance lol. Tested 3 times and all my nose picks up is an overwhelming synthetic chestnut that I'm not a fan of. Clearly it's just my nose and skin as every review raves about this one. It's too bad as I wanted to love it when I saw the notes.

Prevee reserve is way more smooth than dhi. More smooth vanilla. Rather than a lot of spices like dhi. And the Iris is more tame.
