You need to tell your potential installers that do your course and receive their paperwork from givenergy, that you still won't confirm them as registered installers if they don't have a website, which is what happened to me, and caused me no end of hassle, embassment and expense, when I did the online course there was no mention of this. So any future installers beware before you purchase their products.

I think you can still be registered and install Givenergy products just not appear on their website installer page

WiFi is an interesting problem, these battery systems are designed to last 10 years, however technologies like WPA2 may become unworkable before the end of lifetime of this equipment, you already have to use quite long WPA2 passwords to ensure security today.

I did a video in Feb announcing this on my channel. Solar isn't related to GivEnergy so it doesn't change anything with that. Plus I haven't done a battery video since moving over a few months back. Nothing is hidden.

How many MPPTs will the new string inverter have? Currently I have 3 strings and have 2 Solis (4+2kWh) connected to GE AC and would ideally love a complete GE system

With GE already on Gen3 Hybrid and now the 3 phase announcement. Could you ask this question. I see some have already mentioned it. What would be good for us early adopters who wish they had an AIO but purchased say 2x 8.2 or 2x 9.5 batteries on a single 3kw ac coupled inverter is a Gen 2 AC coupled inverter. It would be a 6kw or 3 kw depending on the batteries connected. So if one battery then installers would configure it to 3kw. If a matching 8.2 or 9.5 battery added then configured to 6kw. Then each master battery allowed an additional battery. So for example 2x 8.2 or 9.5kw batteries as masters and add two 9.5 or 8.2 or 5.2. Always matching battery capacity. Also ensure it is Gateway compatible and a hard wired ethernet connection. GE would sell a lot of these to existing customers including more Gateways and the installers would have additional work with prior customers. New customers would have a path to increase their capacity if they just purchase the gen 2 inverter and a single battery.

bigger fish to fry I suspect, when you look at your bills does the 3kW only inverter actually result in much import anyway - mine is a few kwh a month not really worth worrying about.

I have just gained DNO approval for a solar and battery system containing two 9.5 GivEnergy battery's via EON energy. I questioned about the free EV charger but they advised that they were not eligible to get them.

DO NOT go with EON - I'm 2 years in to my initial install and still have issues with my system. EON outsource the work to multiple companies - find someone else!!

A 5 or 6 kw AC inverter would be good for people wanting to add a extra battery and hav better charge / discharge rates who cant have tha AIO .

faulty system and still not sorted after after 2 months. site visit required from givenergy engineers. not impressed by givenergys aftersales. they have very poor comunication skills. please sort out existing customers before bringing out new systems.
