I do have to fade the volune when you run out of time. More footage of the sea life please, good stuff. I know, you are trying to cram alot into each vlog. Good test of the iPhone case. You will find if you go deeper that it takes much more expensive equipment to get good color anywhere below 10 m. This is because of the waters filtration of colors as you go deeper. Looking forward to your scuba follow ups!

Cheers Mike. I understand there are filters for the GoPro when you go below 10m to bring back certain colour such as the reds. I'll certainly have to investigate all this a lot more closely if the PADI certification comes off :)

That's really interesting how the camera becomes zoomed because of the water. I guess that's why some dive phone cases include an external wide angle lens that covers your phone lens.

Great question Tracy! All other underwater footage was shot on the GoPro Hero 5, all land based footage on the GH5. Links to my gear list in description :)

Cheers Nick :) Pretty happy with it! Surprisingly there was not much correcting needed on the underwater shots. The visibility and ProTune worked wonders!! I think from memory I reduced the blue a little and punched the shadows slightly.

Yeah the iPhone shots I bumped the shadows and removed some blues. The iPhone is terrible in low light but it did decently in this situation I recon. How are your edits looking? Where will you be posting? Keen to see!

From the start, I heard too many stories of the GoPro 5 either leaking or the pressure messing up things so I immediately bought the 'Supersuit' for deep diving with the Hero 5.

Did the phone grip float with the iPhone??

It did at the beginning of usage and I found that helped me a lot when I was starting (as I was not a great diver) but the longer we used it the more the grip filled with water and eventually it sunk if you let it go.

I may have to pick up one of those cases for my 6sPlus. I wouldn't take it to depth but I like to really protect my stuff when I am in the water. When river treasure hunting, you find phones that would have been saved if the owner put a little extra money into something that would protect it better.

I would rather buy GoPro when it almost cost the same now. If it cost less than $50 maybe, but for $120 plus shipping, I could get myself a GoPro 5 instead.

GoPro has the WiFi capability to transfer the photo or video to your iPhone instantly. Never have to worry about risking your phone getting wet. Also, you’ll be able to use your GoPro for other things. I don’t know what else you’ll be able to you the $120 plastic case.
