I've watched more than 200 luggage videos on KZbin before I found this one. (Not exaggerating!) You are the only one who actually shows what the cases really looks like inside in a usable way! You are getting the biggest 👍 that KZbin can handle!

I like this system buy hate not having the option to not leave the case unlocked If I want to open it without a key each time.
@tubeMiLKO5 ай бұрын
Ohhh, that thing under the key is a switch to release the attachment mechanism lol.. I bought a pair of boxes and a rack and clicked the box onto the rack (not on the bike yet) and had no idea how to remove it, It came with no instructions lol. Also, the best part of the video is when you magically appear via teleportation.

Thank you very much for a really informative video. I have learned a lot from your work on installing Sat Nav, a centre stand for my T7. I too would love to see a little more on what you did to the Yamaha rear rack to get it to fit with the givi pannier rack . I like this set up for the pannier options and also it will give a little more protection.

great video, and awesome bike can you share a link for the shoe cubes?

Curious - have you noticed much increase in wind drag with panniers and trunk mounted? Much thanks for your presentations on your T7!

Not really, but I ride mostly on second and third grade roads where speeds are lower.

I noticed the Alaska series does not have the strap mounting points on the lid like the outback series. Do you think you will miss those?
@orbsurfer81953 жыл бұрын
The side cases have fastening points molded into all the four corners of the top lid. I should have shown an image from the top of the case to clarify this. Sorry about that! :-)

Hello, would be great to know if it is very difficult to mount OEM rack with GIVI pannier racks? Could you please give us some info on that? Thank you!
@orbsurfer81953 жыл бұрын
I will try to make a video of the process. It requires modifying the OEM rear rack, the connection brackets and the two case carriers by cutting, drilling, filing, grinding and painting.

I think the sub-frame (seat rail) of T7 has not the strength against such weights.
@orbsurfer81953 жыл бұрын
That explains why the Yamaha OEM rear rack is so strongly made. The rear rack is attached to six different points on the frame, and the rear rack has height in the form of grab bars built into the design of the rack. The height of the sides of the rear rack acts as a beam, giving the rack and the frame added strength. I will look out for cracks in the rear frame in case the structure is overloaded, and then try to strengthen the frame by adding stiffeners. Thanks.

Did you document the modification ? I might want do go the same route (already have the top rack)
@orbsurfer81953 жыл бұрын
Yes, I need to make a video about the modifications to the top rack and the case carriers.

does the yamaha oem rear rack protect the exhaust when tipping over ?

No, not really.

Looking for a solution of the same so a question if you please> Is the 2145 Givi rack symmetrical so you could fit two cases of the same size_?
@orbsurfer81953 жыл бұрын
The rack is symmetrical; either case fits on both sides of the rack.
@Tarkanbh3 жыл бұрын
@@orbsurfer8195 thanks for that but I was rather wandering is the rack same distance from the bikes frame on both sides or is it closer on the left hand side and further away on the right hand side?
@orbsurfer81953 жыл бұрын
@@Tarkanbh On the bike I mounted the racks on; a Yamaha Ténéré 700, the distance on the left hand side is roughly 9 1/2" and on the right hand side, the exhaust side, 11 1/2", both distances from the center of the motorcycle.

Thanks a lot for your videos! Really appreciated. Have you tried a pillion on with the OEM Yamaha rear rack, the side handles won't be in the way? Cheers!
