16:04 The shame about Ultimate Cannonbolt is I always thought there was a very easy way to salvage and justify the original design. They coud've said that the spikes on the shell allowed him to roll up vertical surfaces or even on ceilings like a rolly poly Spider-man. The thing is, Ultimate Cannonbolt makes a lot of sense when you think about the way ultimates are formed. They are put into a warzone and whatever evolves from that becomes the new ultimate, and Cannonbolt's shows that pretty well. They evolved to have a stronger metal shell for both increased defense and increased offence, the only problem is that the ultimate was just kinda boring.

I love the crab-cannon Brainstorm except for the “dumb” bit. Keeping in mind the DNA evolves from being in a war zone for millions of years, it wouldn’t really make sense for him to become stupid since basic/above average intelligence would lend to his survival. Instead of just getting dumber, what if he transfers his book knowledge/tech know-how into tactical/strategic prowess and a Hawkeye-level understanding of angles and sharpshooting.

I can see ultimate brainstorm v2 just being a related species to the original entirely. Like they evolved differently making them more combat oriented and sturdier which could make them more suited to a rocky/mountainous region. Also for some reason I just love Crab Cannons being a name for it.

As for the evolution of a species, if it's a 10,000 year war simulation, it would make sense that they would develop, even if forced by their own hands, into a more weapon based species, probably at the cost of intelligence. If it's a matter of survival over what they once were, survival is always taken into account...also Albedo DID look down on other life forms, so he would make the Cerebrocrustacean "Dumber" in his simulations as...well no matter how good a programmer you are, your bias will always show through, doubly so for an egotistical jerkoff like Albedo.

Any alien that is just OP in anything, like Alien X being able to survive the universe being erased or Feedback being able to absorb the big bang level blast or Atomix creating a miniature sun, I hate on sight. It cheapens any amount of tension you could muster. How are you supposed to beat an alien that can casually tank the universe being erased? Why would I think Ben could lose a fight when I know he could bust out Alien X, Feedback, or any number of OP alien he has to survive and win?

How I interpret the first Ultimate Chromastone ideas (Red and Pink) is that the pink Chromastone, being a 'fortress' as Ash stated, is the main body for Ben and could be the size of a skyscraper floating in the air, generating smaller red duplicates from his fragmentation ability. Meanwhile the red ones could channel energy from the pink to engage in combat and behave like a hive mind for their commander, whether being individually controlled or unanimously. But that's just my interpretation.

A lot of people always forget that the ultimatrix doesn't just evolve the DNA It evolves the DNA in a specific war scenario, So that only the DNA that adapts to the war zone survives. And that's what I really like your second version of ultimate brainstorm it's sacrifices intelligence for strength and power, if the DNA was not put into a war scenario brainstorm probably would only get smarter and have a bigger brain, but because the need to fight and survive is introduced and the DNA is specifically being evolved for war the intelligence is sacrificed to make a tank.

Ultimate Cannonbolt could have definitely had so much more, particularly like you’ve done. Rather than just have him be a recolour of his previous form and give him alarm bells and spikes and boom there you go. His, along with Ultimate Big Chill’s design, needed more cosmetic features and adjusted proportions to show that they’re evolve forms, if you will, but still give them recognisable features.

I think the first version of Ultimate Brainstorm fits thematically. My head canon is that the entire race transferred their brains into mechanical bodies that are better suited for combat after years of conflict against another alien race.

Idea for the power of Ultimate Cannonbolt. The idea of the concept of him is that it is based on being a cannonball or a wheel. Its evolution could be similar to a ball combined with a shell of spikes (similar to that of an chainsaw), being able to destroy everything in its path and even climbing walls thanks to its spikes, its weakness is that due to the extremely fast turning it is unable to bounce or maneuver freely like its original form. In summary Cannonbolt would be the living concept of "An unstoppable force"

Ult. Jetray - How well does Jetray respond to gravity, considering how he’s genetically adapted to zero-gravity scenarios? Ult. Brainstorm A - Would Brainstorm be able to forge new limbs to control, considering the mechanical nature of his new appendages? Ult. Brainstorm B - Do the electric cannons _directly_ run on Brainstorm’s brainpower, or does he store some rechargeable shots? Ult. Chromastone A - How exactly has Chromastone’s powers changed? Ult. Chromastone B - How much of Chromastone’s powers were altered by Diamondhead’s influence? Ult. Cannonbolt - How well can Cannonbolt control his tail?

An idea I had for Ultimate Cannonbolt was to just double down on his destructiveness and make him into a full on wrecking ball. In my idea he would be able to shoot chains out of his body in a similar way to Ultimate Humoungasour can shoot missiles from his hands and be able to latch onto things to either pull them in closer or to swing around on them like a wrecking ball. Would also be a fun nod to Cannonbolt's debut episode as Ben references the Spiderman movies when testing out his powers by making Cannonbolt do the wrist poses Peter does when trying to shoot his webs. Really like your take on it though as well, along with the other ones!

Something you could’ve done with Ult. Cannonbolt could’ve been making him noticeably smaller. Like sacrificing his size which allowed him to basically steamroll opponents, but making him much faster as a result like a sentient speeding bullet

You know how Terraspin can peak out of his shell when he flies? I would do that for Ultimate Cannonbolt, where he’s constantly in ball mode, and you can only see his eyes peaking out of his armor in a scary manner when he’s still

That's an idea - placing his entire head on the 'outside' of his shell. It's a dramatic change to the OG cannonbolt design, and does have the drawback of exposing his eyes to damage unless there's a clear armored eyelid that helps protect it, and.. well, I'm not sure how he'd feasibly be able to see when he's constantly rotating, even with eyes out. They'd have to be near the shoulders/sides of his ball form, so that they'd be closest to a single position..

Jury rigg has always been way better than upgrade to me, (mainly because the Omnitrix mechamorph can neither remember tech, nor permanently upgrade it) Jury rigg can work from nothing up to a space ship. Due to the sheer number of possible variables from a million-year war simulation, I'm guessing that the ultimatrix takes either the most combat/survival efficient or the most likely possible evolutionary traits from various possible paths of evolution and alters the DNA to essentially stack them into one form, hence why the ultimates weren't very functionally cohesive since some adopted traits needed excluded traits to bring out their full potential. Otherwise it makes no sense for them to be as weak as they are. Also, the colour palette change is prolly due to terrain damage due to warfare. It'd be interesting if the simulation was them trying to overcome all their natural predators while dying over and over and evolving abit with every death match, but it would mean they'd need the predator DNA data in the Omnitrix too.

Something I love Ash does later is giving these Ultimates a different name. It make it feel like they *could* be regular aliens. So the evolved vaxasaurans went step further and made them detachable and put them in a sort of modified siphon like squid and octopus have.

Well, since all Albedo Aliens in Omniverse are red, Black or white, it makes sense that his ultimates have the same colours as their base form, but yeah, if i guessed what colours these guys could have if it was Ben's, i would say that ultimate rath would be something that helped him sneak into forests or savannas, because his clothes are a bit more "junglelish", like a green or lion aspect Gravattack would be something like Black or a dark colour, since his basically a planet and probally lives in space, it would make sense that he would have dark textures to match his habitat Ultimate Gray matter....well, i dunoo.since he is basically Mordoc, maybe yellow or purple?Meh, it would'nt be really good see a YELLOW ultimate Gray Matter, so i think he would still bem gray, but a metalic gray maybe?because he have so much tecnologic features y'know? I always liked the idea that the ultimate forms have that basis of "we simulate that species surviving for 10mil years, and that's what it evolved into", and because of that I like the idea of that some aliens just don't evolve in the scenario. Like Alien X and Chromastone don't have ultimate forms not because artists just said no, but because they are alien X and Chromastone, they are already super optimal for any combat scenario, similar to the Cannonball, it already can survive pretty much everything, so its evolution doesn't change much

I actually really love all of these designs. I hated they never gave every alien an ultimate form. I love how each of these feels like they evolved to these better forms. Especially love what you did to canonbolt. I hated how he just became metal ball with weird rods. Never made sense to me. But yours is actually like a species that became something else. They were all about defense, so they slowly grew more armor, the tail could easily be explained as a way for them to maneuver while in ball form, or simply to help them balance or like turtles have an elongated limb to push them if they ever got stuck on their back. The trade off would simply be speed. They are not as fast as they are larger and heavier than a normal Arburian Pelarota. Though with chromastone, I do love your idea about him gaining a crystal ability. I would think an evolved version of their crystal abilities could have just been straight up Geomancy. Now they can control their own crystals, along with the terra of other planets and or crystal like substances. Everything else is amazing.

@@7473R maybe more vulnerable to physical force as their bodies are more crystalised than rock crystals which makes them more brittle as they are more focussed on absorption and reflection

@@bryanyap3888 That could work, but they are part stone now, so maybe instead the energy they fire off is now limited. Half of the original chromastone's ability was absorption and then redirection. What if instead now they just generate their own energy blasts, but it takes time to recharge it.

Seeing the two Brainstorms… it makes me wonder if the first one is just an intelligence “Cold War” with the Galvans. As for the second one I thought of a combat based against near extinction scenario and must fight for self-preservation over intelligence. Speaking of the 2nd Brainstorm design, I thought of something for Rath of all things… What I thought of was that while Rath/Appoplexians initially just rush in and basically beat everything down. I wondered if they traded off their strength to be akin to like Taskmaster from Marvel in a sense. They would trade off their bravado and strength to that of being more intelligent and being able to copy martial fighting styles of different species to then quickly and efficiently eliminate their adversaries along with a similar design to that of Ultimate Rath from Omniverse.

You are a GENIUS! An evolved Appoplexian would have to adapt that way because a million year long war would be already harsh and pure beef/muscles wouldn't be the best option. I imagine that Ultimate Rath is way more silent than his pre-evolved counterpart, with a slimmer build, made for agility and more precise strikes rather than blunt punches.

I like the implications that the aliens that Ben unlocked in classic Ben 10 are evolutionarily so good that when they are turned ultimate they just get slightly bigger or they add one thing like a spike to wildmut and spikes to cannonbolt

An idea I had for an ultimate alien that we never saw- Ultimate Wildvine: He can shoot his shoulder seeds farther, and grow them into massive forests of vines, but he loses his stretchy powers. In fact, his legs are rooted in place and the only way he can move is by moving the ground beneath him with his vines

Maybe if he's in midair his roots will grow downward until they reach a solid object, so it's a bit of a cheat sheet for Ben to get higher up so that his Ultimate Wildvine can be bigger than he normally would be. Basically can be the size of a large shrub to tree sized
