This is Aurora doing what she always does and that being true to herself and writing songs that make you think deeply about life and the world we live in she’s always asking questions and thinking deeply about life and what it is to be human.from a young girl of 9 right up to the present day you see it in all her lyrics for me it’s why as a songwriter she stands head and shoulders above anyone out there the girl is a Genius and we are so blessed to have her music.❤️🍎🎭

Great reaction! Aurora said in a resent interview with triple j that the song was inspired by the myth of prometheus, that sculpted man out of clay, and stole fire to give them life(or something like that). And how we are to fixated on how the clay looks, instead of focusing on our inner fire. To quote Aurora "Clay, no no. Fire, yes yes"

This is very personal for Aurora I think. "If I'll be somebody, I'll never let my skin decide it" This is Aurora shouting her lungs out.

AURORA said this about the song in an interview with NME: “I was thinking about Prometheus, and how he stole the fire to sculpt us - the humans,” Aurora said about the track. “I feel like we sometimes forget that we are living creatures, capable of so many beautiful things. And the human’s current obsession with beauty makes us forget and devalue the fire that rests within us. Our inner self, and most important part.”

I like that she is changing it up a bit. Her new Album will have 15 songs on it, so we will more than likely have plenty with her signature sound on them. Yes, this is from the new album. Exist for love, then Cure for me and now this one. I love her creative nature. Can't wait for the full album. And yes, she does hang out with Sigrid. They've been friends a long time. And no, Aurora does not have anyone new in her life. She said she is not dating anyone. I think this Album does seem to have the theme of stop trying to change me and stop putting me in a box.

It will actually have 17 songs. The 1st track is not a song and more of an intro (40secs long), also CD/Digital and Vinyl versions of the album differ slightly with Vinyl having 2 new songs replacing old ones from CD/Digital edition.

Plus Potion For Love as a part of Deluxe edition, so 18 songs in total.

It's an amazingly written song and a new direction for her which I appreciate. This is a very important issue about not having to change for the world be who you are and that's what matters.

I can't wait to see her in concert and see how she sings this live! From hearing her past live performances, my impression is that she brings her vocals forward when live, and changes things up or adds elements. I agree that her most recent songs are centered within a more immediately personal perspective. Even though all of AURORA's songs are deeply personal to her (which becomes obvious when you see her live performances and how she channels her music). At the same time, she is exploring a specific theme in the upcoming album and invoking different Greek Gods in each song. So there is still much to be revealed, and no way to predict precisely how the overall album will pull everything together / create the overall gestalt. Which makes it more exciting to me.

After over a year of introspection I imagine Aurora's new works will be much more personal (though not, because it's Aurora, without broader applicability). She has also said in interviews that her new music will not be so nearly oblique as some of her past work. A sign of her growing self-confidence that I am soooo looking forward to. Great reaction as always guys.

Nice reaction, as always. The song outro is fantastic. Aurora has said so many things about the next album (and it’s had a few iterations), it’ll be interesting to finally hear it. :)

“When asked which of her older songs compare to the sound of her new album, AURORA said that about half the album sounds like the acoustic version of "Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1)".” “I’m asking questions to everything that made us the way we are now; in our past, in politics, religion, and in weird ways of thought we have created that make no sense - like racism, not being a feminist or burning women for being witches. All of these strange things that we have convinced ourselves are the right thing to do, which is just so odd. It makes no sense. I just wonder where it started, you know, this cruelty, and the good things of course.” “Of the album release, AURORA has explained, “The spiritual door between the human and the gods is a very complicated thing. In the right hands faith can become the most beautiful thing. Nurturing and warm. And in the wrong hands it can become a beacon of war and death. One thing that has always bothered me is the idea that we’re born unworthy having to deem ourselves worthy by suppressing the forces within us that make us human. Not perfect, not flawless, just human. Could we find this Divine power in ourselves, while still being attached and seduced to the wonders of the world. The flesh, the fruit and the wine. I think that is what intrigues me about the Greek gods. The gods of the ancient world. Perfectly imperfect. Almost within our reach. Like gods we can touch.”

It took me around 3 listens to fully embrace this song. This is great song. It is Aurora, but also a little different Aurora. But the album and song has also deeper meaning (as usual with Aurora). I will put some interesting thing she said about album and track: The spiritual door between the human and the gods is a very complicated thing,” Aurora said in a statement about ‘The Gods We Can Touch’. “In the right hands faith can become the most beautiful thing. Nurturing and warm. And in the wrong hands it can become a beacon of war and death. “One thing that has always bothered me is the idea that we’re born unworthy having to deem ourselves worthy by suppressing the forces within us that make us human. Just before Mike said that about Benny from ABBA, that's exactly what came to my mind!!! 🤣 Have you heard her song, The River? Despite the topic of the song (male suicide), it's also very upbeat. Not sure if it's already in your playlist but, if not, it's definitely worth checking out.

So looking back over your Aurora playlist, I notice you have reacted to several songs from her Haik concert, but you don't seem to have publicly reacted to the first half of the documentary (or perhaps you've watched it privately?). I would love to see your reaction to that part of the documentary - it will give you more insight into her as a person and make you love her even more - I know, seems impossible - right? I'm sure your W&W followers would love that as well.

Nice that you have something from Aurora again. Was a nice reaction. 😁 The song is not about Aurora, but about the belief in only one god who tells you to be like you and if you are not pure you will be punished. There used to be many gods and no "sins". There was the right God for every human being. God of love, God of fire, God of war, etc. One did not commit sins, one simply paid homage to the God corresponding to the deed. You should just be the way you were. That's roughly how Aurora described it. Her new album is called "Gods we can Touch" and that's probably the theme of the whole album. In "cure for me" she has already criticized the Christian faith and its view of love, what it should look like and what it forbids. And as always it has been so far, I don't think this is Aurora's end version of this song. There will still be some different variants. This is an album version for the record companies. I think the version of the song that will be released next of this song is her favorite. Could be again like "cure for me" either the acoustic or the piano version.

I love your reactions! Especially because you hardly ever seem to pause the song WHILE IT'S PLAYING. That annoys me so so much. It ruins the experience of hearing the song. Music is emotion expressed through time. Pausing kills that. So thanks for not doing that lol.... There's plenty of time to give your thoughts after the song is done. :)
