place the box lid at the bottom (upside down) and you will have a transparent roof that enable the plant to receive more light

To solve problem of lid just put container upside down and lids sitting on lid bottom so light can come through! 💚🌿🧤

Amazing that your ghost is growing so well in the middle of winter. Totally agree about the water roots. And ikea has totes with clear lids. I have one for my orchids.

Hi Bill - Gardening In Canada sent me here; glad I stopped by and discovered you! I majored in Greenhouse Production Hort in college, and I’m looking forward to seeing the follow up to this video! You’re inspiring me to give my neglected plants some love and put them up on KZbin as well!

Welcome!!! Gardening in Canada? Is that a website or Facebook group? Either way its nice you found me :) are you working in the production industry currently?

Gardening in Canada is another KZbin channel - Ashley hosts the channel, and is a soil scientist based out of Saskatoon... excellent source of info.

Currently I work as a general horticulturist doing design and landscape work, but I’ve been breeding Asiatic lilies for about 4 years, and my wife and I have a goal to pretty much move our business 100% online so we can buy land in the bush in SE British Columbia, and get back into production horticulture/vegetable production. I always dabble in a bit of everything (too many interests?), but covid has really made me want to get out and be a lot more self sufficient and productive to help feed more people with local food.

Moving your shop online will be an undertaking.. but if you an manage the crazy people and shipping then you'll be set. There is such a demand for online sellers.. now more than ever.
@Ahomesteadersdream3 жыл бұрын
@@PlantzNThings when I say move my business online, it will be more with online consulting & landscape design contract work - I’m also planning out a landscape design fundamentals course that homeowners can take. I will only get into more physical products when I can sell in person... I have a small handcrafted beeswax candle business that I do seasonally & I definitely don’t want to expand the physical product shipping and fulfillment model as it is too much work (and I don’t want to sell my products via Amazon FBA) I haven’t really looked into you to much beyond KZbin (and I need to watch a lot more of your videos;) - I’m guessing you have a good website I can check out?

Good luck Bill just a suggestion you could put the pots on the lid so the base is upside down where more light can penetrate

Nice video. If the top cutting grows roots from both nodes you could always cut it later. I like coarse perlite a little more than sphagnum. I will probably be able to propagate my florida ghost this summer. I wonder if cutting 1/3 to half the leaf mass off would decrease stress while they root.
@PlantzNThings3 жыл бұрын
It wouldn't hurt to cut back the leaves a bit... it has been 2.5 weeks since I filmed this.. the leaves are still very strong. And the roots are starting to develop.. in a few weeks time I'll have an update video on these guys

Don't be nervous you're the pro. You taught me how to pinch petunias when I started gardening earlier this year I mean 2020. My petunias flowed to the grass. I love this plant. Send me a cutting 😉😚😚

I bought a plumeria cutting about 4 months ago and put it in a clear cup with some holes on the bottom and used Miracle Grow soil for flowers and it has literally done nothing except grow two leaves and fall off, then it grew two more and they turned black, and I felt something sticky, so it might of been bleeding. Now they are rock hard and won’t move. I’ve been watering it once a month, and I have no roots or anything. It hasn’t rotted either and is still perfectly green. I am very confused by this. If you could help me that would be amazing. Thanks!

hi Bill, is that an angel wing begonia back there? could you do a video on begonia care please?I have a beefsteak begonia that is not doing so well. it's turning brown and crisp.I've tried letting it go dry between waterings and keeping it moist but not saturated and nothing seems to be working. many thanks!

What are you thought? Can you propagate it just with the stem and leaf when the stem has a part of the round cup lump thats attached to the node.

Hm, does a Florida ghost cost? Hope you will do an update video on this.
@roxannegordon61624 ай бұрын
You need to upgrade your video gear so we can see more of the plant then the two top leaves. It looks like a Ghost mint. Leaves do not stay white in a Ghost Mint. I need to get a Ghost for sure. I have narrowed down my plants to a few. Well, about 20 from 39. I don't have time to baby them as a few insist on it. I don't have drama queens anymore. Like Peace Lily. There is nothing peaceful about those.
