Great video, love the garden show but the background music is louder than their voices sometimes, which is distracting.

This is a late 90s or early 2000s show hence the wierd music, old desktop Macs, Blackberry phones and dated style choices. I'm enjoying the vintage garden creation experience ... thanks, Abode.

I've been watching your videos one after another, and I usually forget to thumbs up, but I have to say that you guys have consistently made me mentally applaud your design aesthetic and all the choices you make. Out of all the garden rescue/design series I've watched over the years, your gardens are by far, and I do mean by a long ways the best, most spectacular designs of any on the market, imho. YOU GUYS ARE THE GOAT of garden designers.
@Autism_Forever3 жыл бұрын
Hate to say but the clients were kind of lifeless. When I saw inside their house, my first thought was "Ah, so this is where they cut the bodies!" Pointlessly killing a perfectly good tree only proved my suspicions.

Do people not know how some YT channels work? This channel doesn't own or have anything to do with this show or any other show on here. They just upload the episodes for our viewing pleasure - thank you for that! Hence, they have nothing to do with editing, music, content etc. Also, this particular show aired 2008/9, so some of the designs may not be cutting edge or super trendy anymore, but for the most part I think their garden designs aged well. I'm not a fan of every little thing they do but they have some great ideas and I love watching these shows to get ideas for my own space.
@ellismccoy3 жыл бұрын
Actually the channel is owned by the Studio which also owns these shows. But yeah people need to realise how old these are now... Personally I think there's a charm in the noughties style music and editing, makes you realise how much just regular TV has changed over the years.

@mauraswenson88923 жыл бұрын
Hmmm, didn't quite address the privacy issue, especially from the top deck. It'll take awhile for the Cornish Florida to grow tall enough for the intended effect. Not diggin' the whole design.
@macaraegandreilords.2543 жыл бұрын
The documentary is excellent but the sound effect is too loud as a result I cannot literally understand the conversation which is very essential in the video.
@Solonneysa3 жыл бұрын
Hmm not a fan of some of the choices. The vases in the yard seem like a hazard, and will be a pain to maintain. The grass will die underneath, and then weeding around them is just an extra chore. I can see those being removed, fairly soon. Also, I like metals and the aesthetic of industrial but I didn't like the "reading nook" at all. It seemed more like sitting inside a dumpster. I also agree with someone else who said the privacy issue wasn't really addressed since their windows, and deck, sit above the height of the fence. Finally...it mostly seems like the standard "build a wood deck, frame the outline with bushes" strategy. not a lot of creativity there.

In my opinion, the smaller deck is just poorly designed, the chairs don't fit in it, instead of those chairs they could've put a wood arbor to keep it simpler. As for the big deck, they could've used some raised garden beds surrounding it to assure the kids' safety and to add more green to the deck.

@janelane19123 жыл бұрын
As a woman who likes to tan in her own backyard, I don't want neighbors seeing me in my swimsuit, so I would love that separation with walls all around. Also book reading outside is nice but not when lawn mowers and leaf blowers are in the background so it could drown the sound the little bit.

Uprooting and chopping a live tree tucked in a corner just because it's not their style?!!?!! That must have been there since before the client might have bought this piece of land.. Now who really is intruding ? We humans are so arrogant and self-centred.. Animals at least cry out and let the agony of slaughter known to some extent.. not to mention it falls on deaf ears anyway.. Vegetation is deprived of that expression too..
