@@AWrapperShortslol, I live less than 70 miles from the “most under funded” school in America. It’s farm land in the middle of nowhere. The Walmart they shopped at isn’t in their town. It’s over 70 miles away in the town that I’m from. Those supplies will last the 8 students PER CLASS, PER YEAR, like 10 years lol. There’s a reason it’s the most under funded. There was a class of 3 students in 2017.

As someone who was born and raised in NC in a lower income family. These sorts of things stick with you for life. I remember a church in my neighborhood gave me a lot of my first brand new school supplies and it made me feel a lot better about myself. Not having what you need really sucks. I still can't believe in 2022 we make teachers (and students) basically have to buy all their own supplies, worry about lunches and all the other stuff school age kids go through these days. As someone who desperately wanted to be a teacher decades ago before "life" interfered lol I could never handle the stuff all teachers seem to have to go through these days. Not to mention all the crap teachers get thrown at them now (without getting political, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about though) from certain segments of the political spectrum. I'm also from NC and seeing you give back to the community right around us is so heartwarming :) esp in NC, where education is so underfunded (we rank 48th in education funding if I remember correctly 😔) and teachers are so underpaid and end up using what little money they have to buy school supplies for their kids, this is really going to make a difference both for schools and teachers. He wants to give to others when he really doesn't have much to give. I gave him a scratcher the other day and he won $10. I recently watched a video about your life and how you got started and I am completely hooked. I love every aspect of what you are doing to change the world. I currently work as a paraprofessional in kindergarten, but by Christmas next year I will be a certified teacher. There was a time in my life that I didn’t know if I would be alive to love my little girl and love all the children I work with. I have chrons as well and your story inspires me. I was diagnosed at 12 and suffered for many years. At 22 my bowel ruptured and I spent 2 months in ICU after undergoing an emergency surgery that left me with a permanent colostomy. I thought my life was over then, but little did I know my life was about to change for the better. My colostomy saved my life and has given me more of a life than I ever had before. I stayed so sick and frail for so many years, at some points weighing as little as 76 pounds. Now I am healthy and able to enjoy my life and keep on living. Thank you for all you do ❤

i know, because my parents and some family friends are teachers, that it is normal for teachers to have to use their own money to get supplies for the classroom. the fact that yall got them so much supplies, and it wasn't just for STEM, is amazing. the art department is always last on the list for supplies, and often so too is the music department. this really hit me right in the feels man.

I discovered this video's existence a few months ago and wanted to come back to it. It makes me want to cry because that most underfunded school was THE school I went to from kindergarten to 6th grade when I moved away before I could graduate in 8th grade since it was an elementary-middle school. My older sister went here too, but she went from 5th-8th. It's quite literally in the middle of nowhere, and that Walmart is 1+ hour away from the tiny village-like town of Ehrenberg AZ. Each grade usually had under 20 students per grade, and some classes were so small with too little teachers that grades were often combined. I went to a 4th/5th grade class for two years and a 6th/7th one before moving about a month in to the school year. There was no cafeteria either in the school, it was in the small gym where folded tables were against a wall next to the bleachers to be pulled out for breakfast and lunch time. Also, it was hot af since it was the desert, and standing in line after recess in the summer was brutal, ESP if the teacher was late (one time, it was over 110 degrees and we were standing in the blistering sun for 10+ minutes before we were told by the principle who came out to let us go play while we waited for the teacher who did eventually show up, dear GOD). What I loved about the school was the 3 story playground, the Christmas activities (Santa Clause and his wife would one day come to the school on quads and there would be pics in the gym. During the same day, we would make specific sugar cookies by adding our own frosting that I have never found again. We also had a Christmas program where each class would sing a song on a stage to the school and families), the annual fishing trip for 4th grade and up, the walkout for Halloween, the jump rope event, the Zumba thing that started when I was in 3rd or 4th, a twice a week time to eat and learn about a new fruit or vegetable in the gym, Dr. Suess Day, field day, the field trips (indoor water park, Phoenix AZ zoo a few times, a small recreational building, etc) etc. They tried, although some teachers were questionable, and I can't help but almost miss it cause of nostaligia. This is why watching this made me so shocked and made me want to cry. The school needs any help they could get for the students. I wish we could've had your help like that when I went there, but this makes me happy all the same. These kids have such limited opportunities to build themselves up and have good futures without moving away altogether, and I was one of the lucky ones who did. Thank you, Mr. Beast. :)
