Speaking of Wayforward, they made a metroidvana based off the Atari classic Yars Revenge. It’s called Yars Rising and it came out a few months ago. Funny enough it’s not the first time they made a game for Atari as in the early 2010’s they made Centipede Infestation which was a more modern take on the classic bug shooter
