I dont think BigDaws (and a lot of people in the comments) understood what she was saying. Basically, she said its cool that the guy is thankful cause he got rewarded for his generosity but to also watch out for obvious scams (“such a racket”). Its cool to be generous but sometimes you’ll see people at gas stations saying stuff like “Hey I got stranded and my family really needs to get back to X city and im out of gas, could you give me 20$ for gas?” and you give them 20 bucks, next thing know you come out of the store after paying for your gas and you see that same person saying the same thing to other people (happened to me once), those situations are scams. Obviously this isnt an excuse to be cold hearted and you can just analyze the situation for yourself to see if you’re getting scammed or not. She could have explained it/handled it better and not make things awkward but after all she does have a point.

Its equally as easy to question anyones intentions. who knows what there gonna do with those iphones? Use them? Sell and flip them for alcohol and drugs for party purposes on campus, etc? who knows?

that guy saw someone else get the iphone and already knew he was gonna get it. here is proof He was the only one that handed more than a dollar eager to help him(Wasn't afraid to lose it) He didn't seem that surprised that he got the phone.(CMON if some random stranger walks up to you and gives you a FREAKING BRAND NEW IPHONE 11 you wouldn't have a small reaction unless you already knew you were gonna get it) And my biggest evidence is that he said "No way!" before Dawson even took the iphone out and said anything about it. My grandfather always said moderation in all things. Its good to give but you don't have to always give of all you have. Use your judgement. That way you don't get used and can have more to give to others in need when those come to you who are really in need. I'm not trying to discourage giving just to be sure to not let others use you.
