There are scenes like this in anime all the time, but Shikimori NAILS it. This is easily one of the best SoL anime in the last few years.

You know shikimori could’ve been your stereotypical gf who confronts someone and tells them very rudely to give up their feelings and tells them off like they did something bad but no she’s understanding, kind, and she’s very healthy we love to see it.

Yes she is kind hearted but this wasnt the best outcome, she basically gave the girl false hope, then to later on say she wont give him up no matter how much another girl loves him

@@Daigon95 she basically told her not to hide her feelings and to express them, tell me, if you like someone and they basically tell you to express those feelings, doesnt that basically mean to confess or something similar??? And when it's a person who is hella close to the guy telling you this, wouldnt give you hope that you may achieve what you want??? But its pretty clear that there was basically 0% chance of her getting him while shikimori is with him so i would call that false hope

Even said it in this vid "I may look like im being high and mighty. But you know its something else bc ur a kind person" *paraphrasing* She was consoling by saying tht u shuldnt hide ur feelings and shuld express them. She didnt allude to saying it towards him at all, but to prevent something like this to happen to her again. Tht she needs to b more expressive, she needs to b known by ppl who she really is and how she really feels. Its been constantly beaten into our throats on how ppl say she is "mysterious" and only seen for wht she provides on the outside, not who she is on the inside. So if anything its alot more heartwarming and wholesome tht Shikimori is giving her the tools to actually be herself. Not lock it all up. I just dont know how ppl hav missed this kinda obvious message. Maybe ppl concentrating too much on the relationship issue and not on who the person is. idk Edit: They even addressed this in the following ep. Proving my point.

As much as people are feeling heartbroken for Kamiya I just can't. I can't feel sad for characters/people who do not express themselves at all for SO LONG, because in their subconcious they think nobody is gonna approach said person and love said person like they do, so they just never do anything. . With that being said I like Kamiya's character A LOT, and I'm a lot more happy than sad for her because she can now love somebody with her whole heart in the future when she finds that special someone that makes her feel the way that Izumi did.
