I have a 2021 XP pro premium and about 4 months ago my son bought a 2022 XYZ R1000SS. My son lives in the city and I have 40 acres so my son left it with me to break it in and to just ride it to keep in in shape. I have put about 200 miles on it and have about 1,200 on my XP Pro. The XYX looks great and is absolutely a blast to drive. That speed shifter is so much fun and it is nice to be able to down shift and keep the power on. It also handles great. The XYZ is the same width as the XP pro but is actually about an inch longer. It has a much shorter wheel base and is just a tad shorter than the XP pro. The pro is 125 # heaver ( I weighed them both). The XYZ is comfortable but the interior is smaller and the gauges are hard to read and without a clock with less info. The interior is spartan with the cup holder on the passenger floorboard and only 1 small open cubby hole for storage. Every time you shift it the trans clanks very loud and is every irritating. The oil is much harder to change. Oh and it has Launch control that my son loves. It is a great and solid machine but for me that shifting gets old fast. The XP pro has a much different feel than the XYX and because of the smaller wheel base the XYZ feels like it handles better but in reality that is not the case. Yes the pro has more power but it also rides and handles better and with a larger cab and tons more storage. The pro has a 5 speaker radio with bluetooth and weather. It also has a GPS. Bottom line is my son loves his machine and I love mine and that is all that matters.

I'm at 650 miles on my 2021 yxz and still happy as can be. Cage and seats were the first upgrades and it made a huge difference.

I have a turbo ‘20 YXZ and love it. I run similar trails and terrain in NW Wisconsin. I took my machine out to AZ and felt like I was in my element! This is what the Z was made for! Me and a friend who has the ‘21 rzr pro bashed around the desert and mountains for months and I felt I had the superior car! (I never drove his) He complained about his handling and ride quality so one day we switched… well… he gained a whole new appreciation for his RZR and I quickly realized how terrible my Z rode! The only quality my Z had over the rzr that we both agreed on was the true ‘driving experience’, the revving, the shifting, you feel as if you’re part of the car. However you also feel every bit as ‘beaten’ as the car does! Since then he’s added shock therapy springs and his car has only improved from there. I’m far more impressed with that rzr than I ever expected to be.

I’m so glad I came across your video. I was looking at this or a Can-Am X.3 and even contemplating the YXZ. I’m also staying no more than 64 inches, and I love the idea of the driver experience with the Yamaha. I’ve owned a few Polaris razors before hand and tried out a Can-Am Maverick sport. You can’t sit in or try anything these days and I was hesitant to buy without hearing some feedback. Our riding style/terrain are similar we both live in the same area of the world and after seeing your videos you convinced me the pro XP was the right machine. I pick mine up in two weeks. Thanks again your video was incredibly helpful in making my decision.

Great timing for this video! I've been waffling back and forth between a Pro XP and a 19+ turbo YXZ for some time now, and was just about the pull the trigger on the YXZ for the driver experience, but you talked me out of it. The suspension, cab comfort, and power all seal the deal. The hunt is on to find a Pro XP! (I also super appreciate the comment from @Tyhma Poika below)

I bought a pro r this year but will always miss my 2016 yxz. I have had a 2015 rzr 1000 and the yxz at the same time. And the yxz was more fun but didn't ride as good as the rzr.

I have a 2021 pro xp ultimate and I was thinking getting a blow off valve , not after watching this video, that would drive me nuts 🤪 you ever think about putting some 32s on , 1st week of owning mine I did , have a little over 500 miles on them and it handles, gave me much needed ground clearance and no problems fyi .

Hey Kenny, I know this is an old post, so I hope this comment finds you well. I first wanna say "thank you" and tell you I appreciate your reviews. You seem to be honest and straightforward in giving your opinion. I like that..☺...I first found your channel because I was searching for Yamaha YXZ info and there you are, like you said, not many comparisons out there between the yxz and rzr, Nonetheless, I was happy to hear your positive review on your 2017 YXZ. Cant say I wasn't a little bummed though when you decided to switch seats (smile) but I understand, you explained yourself well. Anyway, I know youre happy with your RZR and I'm happy for you, to each his own, right? For the record, RZR's dominate my area here in southern WV, extremely popular and for good reason, I'm sure. Just wondering though, if you ever miss the driving aspect of the YXZ? I know from personal experience the RZR is a comfortable ride and years ahead in upgrades compared to the Yamaha. Power being a major issue. I know there's a huge difference between my buddy's Talon and the RZR turbo, but I just thought the shifting and driving experience of the YXZ might somehow negate some of that difference, (to some degree anyway.) Especially, with a pipe and ECU upgrade. Please let me know if I'm way off base here. The reason I ask this is because I've been watching another KZbin channel with a guy who has a YXZ SS and he did an exhaust/ECU tune and he's running 92-95mph... He said it's a different machine now, wicked even. LOL...I Just wanted your thoughts on the comparison...clutch vs SS and could an ECU tune narrow the performance gap any, factoring in the driving alure. Thanks again, and have a good day! Didn't mean to write you a book....LOL....God Bless...
