Giya Kancheli: Mourned by the wind

Today is a sad day October 2, 2019. Giyah Kancheli was a master, a true composer, a man who listened while composing. Every note he wrote he felt and was the right note. Carefully weighed, carefully listened to and written down with immense love and understanding. And then those exquisite hints of Bach, Shostakovich, his childhood memories, as if time and space are all encapsulated in his creations, the past, the now and the present. It is all one. RIP Giyah Kancheli.
