Muzan is overwealming as he is and given the time it takes the ds to do the red blade technique akaza would have wiped a few hashiras as he would be serious and trying after almost being killed by tanjiro. With the weaked hashiras such as mitsuri and igoru being taken care of by akaza, muzan would focus on the stronger hashiras and tanjiro. Akaza might not even be killed as by the time the remaining hasiras would have got the red blade,the tide would have been turned too much for the ds to do anything. Its basically Drugged Muzan & 100% Akaza Vs injured hashiras. Akaza not dying in the tanjiro and giyuu battle would have caused the demons to win. Tengen coming back with others such as Urokodaki and Rangoku's father for example would be cool to see but would be no help in the fight. They could simply not keep up. Tengen could barely keep up with Gyutaro and would have lost if tanjiro didn't help so he would not be able to keep up with muzan or the higher ranked upper moons for that matter, especially when the demons are fully trying and not playing around. Tbh i think the ending isn't the best as the demon slayers got VERY lucky and realistically the demons should have won.

Do you understand no marked hashiras except for gyommei or sanemi is keeping up with 100% akaza. Giyuu basically LOST against akaza when he was playing around even when he activated his mark. Tomioka carried Tanjiro for almost the entire fight and it was said that they are even, but Akaza being a demon has the advantage, in addition to experience. Rengoku could only give Akaza complications due to the context, but Tomioka was able to endure him like a champion and his fighting style is made clear in all his fights, more clearly in his training with Sanemi that they counteracted each other .
