This is an episode we definitely needed... if we keep diving deep into the Hashira's backstories/motivations..then this arc is going to make the next "action arc" PHENOMINAL. Ep 19 wouldn't of been as incredible if we didn't understand the love Tanjiro had for Nezuko, right? @@Daesma999 I know, dude! 😭 Just when I think I'm done being sad, they bring him back to remind me of just how sad I am. 😂 I've never seen an anime that has a character death that has been this impactful throughout the entire series. (I'm sure they exist. I just haven't seen this before, personally, and so it's very notable to me.)

True, letting the deep moment with Giyu play out, letting his memories marinade a bit (before Tanjiro then much later, when Giyu's really down, catch him with the food) would have lended more depth to the character and tone of the show and later a bigger payoff potentially

Nah, it helps Giyu further get out of their funk and offer a bonding moment between them. Also it fits the characters perfectly, Tanjiro isn't some perfect being who knows the perfect thing to do at all times and in general, he's not the best with social situations.

it is common in Asian households, especially if you have a garden, to be "sweeping the dirt". We do that to sort the stones, dried leaf and other stuff on the soil. It also flatten the soil, somehow.

Great reaction, bro! As always. Also, about the "Nin Nin," they were only saying that during the Entertainment District Arc because "Nin Nin" is a stereotypical ninja sound in Japanese manga and shows. They were trolling Uzui because he's a former shibobi. 🤣

1 thing I really really appreciate about anime Demon Slayer is that the creators followed closely to the source material (i.e. manga). Giyu's emotional moment and Tanjiro's seemingly terrible comedic timing was exactly how it was in the manga.

We always see Tanjiro bearing so much responsibility and always having to be the strong sensible one (majority of the time) it's truly a change of pace to see him acting as such an adorably annoying little brother for once. I agree with you on the fact that they really should've let us marinate with Giyuu on all his heavy emotions and even though the timing was so off, with Tanjiro's overtly kindness and overthinking at the moment, it makes sense that he'd completely ruin the moment there 😂 He's usually so good at knowing just what to say and how to react but he's been entrusted by the master directly to try and knock some sense into Giyuu without pushing him further away, which he feels like he did in the moment, so he changes the topic completely. We've seen that he's completely oblivious at times, so even though it was a bit awkward I feel like it was still true to his character and therefore still works.

But really, you gotta blame it on the writing. The creator of Demon Slayer said that he feels like Tanjiro is too boring or "normal" of a main character and I feel like he has these random, unnecessary moments where he tries to make Tanjiro more entertaining. He's already a loveable character and he's by no means "normal", no one is as selfless and kind as Tanjiro is, there's no need to make him more interesting.
