This is kinda accurate. There's a light novel spinoff telling some wacky interactions between Tengen, Rengoku and Giyuu. In there Giyuu and Rengoku do talk a lot and Rengoku set it as his goal to make Giyuu smile (which I think he does succeed in). Btw the light novel was written by the same person who made Demon Slayer, so it is canon.
