Plus, it shows off a brilliant part of the design I had never thought about- the joycons protect the actual console from being damaged easily. No corner hits to shatter the screen easily. The joycons are expensive, but not as expensive as buying a new switch. That is true ingenuity.

It really did last longer than I thought it would. The Joy Cons going first doesn't shock me as it looked like the triggers and the sticks absorbed more of the impact each time. Seemed like that design would almost prevent the screen from really connecting with the ground. Makes me a little more confident in the product.

Not to mention you can simply buy a new pair of joycons to slide on. So as long as you install a tempered glass screen protector, your Switch should be relatively safe. Not bad.

I lost 5 limbs in a car crash while trying out alcohol for the first time. 3 of my best friends died and my girlfriend left me. I sat on 7 tic tacs while naked and now I need money to get surgery. Very durable indeed. Would be interesting to see a drop test without the joy-cons, as I imagine they can end up taking most of the impact for the tablet / main body. I've dropped mine without the joy-cons once from about 4 to 5 feet onto a hard flooring while removing it from the dock. I think it landed in a way where it didn't even cause a scratch thankfully.
