GK builds and has always built the best bass amps ever designed IMO. I've been using the MB combos for years and now I'm strongly considering the GK fusion 115 combo. I just love the "grunt" of GK 15's and the preamp designs. GK does have a signature sound but unlike other brands I find I can tweak the tone to simulate any other amp available, even Ampeg's venerable B15N, one of which I own in my studio. Try that with any other bass amp it's not gonna happen.

Why did the volume seem to dip down during the 210 cab then came back up for the 212?

This demo really reveals the differences between 10s, 12s and the 15. The 12s and 15 seem more open in mids overall vs 10s which seem tighter and darker in overall sound. I like 12s the most. Good way to demo the cabs guys!

This was a great demo. I’m hoping the 115 meshes well with my Legacy 210 combo!

are the GK Bass Cabinets powered by a GK head. And are the combo cabs power the Newest GK Heads?

I was poised to order the 4x10 but after watching this video, I think I like the tone of the 2x12 better. The 410 seems like a little to much high end for me. I'm on the fence.

The 212 is right in the middle of the 210 and the 115 balance wise. Don't like the 410 at all but the 210 was surprisingly fat. I'm an old GK fart from the early 80's good to see Bob still at it.

What GK power heads are in the 210 combo 500 Watt amps?
@Gallien-Krueger3 жыл бұрын
Our new lines of combos, the Fusion and Legacy series all use an 800 watt power amp. Even the 112! If you are talking about the MB line of combos, they use the same power amps found in our older MB line of heads.

That 212 sounds more in line with what I’m after than the 410. And I’ve always liked 10s better. Now to find one in stock! 😩

I always wished there was a 400RB rack preamp. It’s not just a sound thing with the very first 400RB’s, it’s a “Feel Good Thing.” What I did yesterday practicing is I used a vintage Crown Macrotech 800 and used the effects loop “Send” on the back of the GK. No speaker connected. It actually sounded and felt great! If I use just the DI into the Crown. I think the Boost control and Master Volume will then work but volume output will be less than if using the effects loop.

I like the 115 .. Do these sound similar to the CX cabs? I have heard GREAT things about the CX model.. I cant fins any in the Dallas area to demo.. And no videos of the CX ones. I Really appreciate this type of video.. The side by side comparison is fantastic.

Does the Neodymium Speaker Magnets change the tone frequency response compared to using ceramic and alnico? It would have be nice to a GK video showing the process and differences in the voice coil winding to see visually the edge round ribbon voice coils compared to non-edge round ribbon voice coils to see the air gaps.

What's the deal with the new cabinets using SpeakON NL2 cables? I was all set to place an order for a new neo 2x10 and 1x15 when I learned of this. I already spent a lot of money on some top quality standard Speakon ON NL4 cables and love them, not about to go out and look for top quality replacement cables now. GK really screwed up here and I think it's going to cost them a ton of sales. At the very least they could have supplied proper high quality cables along with the speakers instead of leaving customers to find out later on after the purchase that their present cables won't work. As much as I wanted the GK's this just doesn't make any sense. Looking to give Mesa my business now.

All our products take both 2 and 4pin, so your cables will be fine. We corrected this over a year and a half ago.

At first - the 212 is the chosen one of the cabs (to my ears 🤷♂ ) - would like to see some "experimental" stuff in the future (maybe an 12" speaker, paired with 2x8" for just a little bit more high mid/treble clarity) 🤔🤷♂ - anyways, greets from germany^^
