Thanks for showing us the trail numbers and where you go, I'm new to overlanding and been to the glade top a couple times and it really helps knowing what the trail looks like and where they are.

No problem! I've documented most of the trails I know in the OnX Offroad app, if you want to see more, check it out here: onxoffroad.app.link/7oOfxouNWEb I've documented a lot in SEMO. Coming back to Glade Top on Saturday.

I have been follwing alot of your trails marked on onx off road app. They have been a blast and plan on doing more, didnt know you had a youtube channel. Keep it up, you have been a big help to me.

Thanks so much for saying that man! I've now done over 100 trails now from Land Between The Lakes KY/TN to Shawnee NF in Illinois, to NE Arkansas all the way to East Mark Twain, to West Mark Twain at Glade Top with more stuff coming to all those areas in the near future, Check out the short I just released for Turkey Bay OHV area, it's in Land Between The Lakes and was amazing.

It was a great memory to share with him, we were taking about building a buggy with my 2000 WJ or 2001 XJ back home. Just got to get that ball rolling one day.

I live near the bootheel in Missouri and have recently got interested in over landing. I didn’t even know we had this sort of trail system around here. Great video!

Mark Twain has 7 different "units" the closest to you is Poplar Bluff and Doniphan Unit, featuring towns such as Van Buren, Winona, Hunter, Williamsville, Greenville, all have Forest Routes, I know there is hidden gems all through them, especially if you just want to mainly camp, and a lot closer to you than Glade Top is, for actual offroading, I would suggest Fredericktown Unit, it has the best bang for the buck and is much closer to you than Glade Top.

Another spot to look up for your location, would be Land Between the Lakes, and the offroading area within LBL, Turkey Bay OHV park. OnX Offroad App, has all my documented trails for all the area I have mentioned in these two comments, well worth the $35 a year to see where you can go and what you can expect out there. I try to give really good details on what I put in the app! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Man! Glad I found your channel and this video! I have to go Missouri in July for the wife’s family reunion… and sweetened the pot about going by agreeing to spend at least one day hitting some trails! Looks like this one would be a great option!

It was a lot of fun, Glade Top is an area full of trails to adventure, but these are some safer yet fun ones, that you can take a Daily to and know that you will get home if you take your time.

@@YourFriendStChris perfect! We’re driving down from Northern IL, so definitely wanna get a fun, but not super intense trail time in! Enough to scratch the itch, and not have to tow it home lol

Very cool vid. I live just south of all of that area down in Arkansas, and I've explored all of it that I can sans 4x4, but that will change in the near future.
@YourFriendStChris Жыл бұрын
Do you mean, you have explored it without a 4x4, in 2wd or on foot? Either way exploring the glade top area would be fun, it's beautiful out there, and a lot of fun with a 4x4. I've began go find the cool stuff on the southeast side of Missouri in the Fredericktown area, now I know of really cool offroading that is only like one hour away from me versus 4+ (to Glade Top). So if you get a 4x4 soon, really look into your home state too, Arkansas has tons of it's own trails located all over the place in the Ozarks and western side of the state. I use the OnX Offroad app to find my way around.
@justinkeckhaver8199 Жыл бұрын
@@YourFriendStChris oh I've been all over my beloved state, believe me. Lol. And I meant I did what I could with a front wheel drive SUV. There's a lot that can be explored that way, but there's also a lot of Jeep/SXS trails, too.
@YourFriendStChris Жыл бұрын
Got it! What would you recommend in your state that feels very similar in difficulty to Glade Top? Perhaps I should ask you after you go with a 4x4. The 507/509 pushed my Jeep near it's limits with out ever getting stuck, I wish I had recorded the roughest spots, I missed catching them, specifically, the spot where I had my Jeep the most off camber I have ever had it, it was a deep rut to one side of the road, and you had to ride in the rut to get between some trees.

At 4:50 that puddle is shallow on the left but several feet deep on the right as you’re going north. I’ve heard it referred to as the Toyota trap. The bypass still took you across the northern part of it, is that your route or is there another?
@YourFriendStChris Жыл бұрын
That is correct! I cleaned up the bypassed to the left, took it and skated across the northern section that was luckily still in the shadows. Thanks for giving this a watch and commenting!
