Great example of what seems impossible today : creators who are willing to submit their writing to other points of view and get the necessary criticism of what is not working, and not take it personal. Being able to write "Stupid !" on someone's ideas and not fear that the person will drop out of the project or be so hurt. Each one serving the project

I am born in the year 2000, and I remember in a very young age, probably 7,8,9, replays of this film on a tv cannel, my dad was watching this movie. I lived my life watching whatever action films my dad watched up until now. But being a child, really just observing the people on film, especially Maximus, I can understand what Bill N. meant that this movie is also for women. Cuz believe me or not, a 7/8/9 year old kid( icant recall), not really understanding the dialogue or the story, I was enamored of Russell Crowe, ( there was this feeling of wishing he was my dad and now wishing his character would be my husband hahahaha) . And rewatching (again for a many times) it now at the age of 24. I'm in love again. hahaha. I also can now see the beauty of the film, the characters, and the story. It was never about revenge or war, it was about a man who loved, and all he wanted was to go home. Beautiful.

Gladiators were paid well and enjoyed a lot of fame. They even had toys or figures of them. And they didn´t die as often as people think since it was expensive to train and feed them.
