I felt like Tavo should of gotten more than a 10 minute brake because he ran out of gas once he beat Tywan before this game ...

Dan Flickstein: A pleasure to see handball played on this high a level. Gonzalez plays very hard, but it looks like he does everything effortlessly. He doesn't look as though he is moving fast, but he is always there for a retrieve, which he seems to make with ease. He doesn't even seem to swing hard, but his drives are more effective than any of the other top players I've seen. And he knows court positioning. He often shoots in front of himself, making it tough on his opponents to see the ball for a return, and he stays in front most often. His opponents are all excellent, but he is today's standard-bearer - the champion.

They violated tavo for giving him only a 10 minute break right after that ty game.

He definitely needed more rest to have a better finals match. He played gio then had to play tywan and then got pushed to play timbo. But I guess the director wanted the tourny to be over with.

He also had a epic game with Carlin so he was definitely out of gas.

Timbo played like a young lion devouring his pray wow.Tavo has to evaluate his game vary his serve and learn to put pressure in his opponent.

The one knock I would give Tavo is STOP DOING THAT LOW SERVE. First off, he does it with extremely low consistancy, second, it's a waste of energy because he powers it somewhere down the middle. A low serve should be alternated all over the court to throw the opponent off. But tavo seems to just use as much power as possible and hope it goes somewhere hard. It's a total waste of energy. If this sport was big enough to where coaches got involved, they'd be telling him the same thing I am. I would have thought people would have learned watching rookie all these years on what a proper serve should be like. Rookie drove the ball hard and deep all over the court. Why not take a page out of rookies playbook? You can use other serves like cross corner but you have to be very quick in getting into position to protect the return. Another thing Tavo kept doing is returning to Timbos sweet spot almost every time. You have to move a guy like timbo away from the middle after he serves if you want any chance of winning. I know it's easier said than done but it's a fact. To Timbos credit, his footwork is in a class by itself. I've been around the game over 30 years and no one comes close to his ability to get into alignment to hit the ball. The way he shuffles from side to side to get into position is truely a thing of beauty. Timbos court IQ is unmatched. He wins because he obviously has more skill and plays smarter than the rest.

Gios footwork in that 2009 kotc was IMO better. His split step footwork wasted no movements and was phenomenal. Not sure though about his ability to read the ball back then though.

Question, at 5 minutes and 21 seconds when Timbo hits that overhand left, he starts to point at someone in the back. Does anyone know who he is pointing at? I assume its some sort of appreciation acknowledgement. When I used to record games like 10-15 yrs ago, I remember Robert Sostre being my favorite player to watch and his left hand was able to do some magical stuff in the game. I've seen Sostre do that same exact overhand left hook drop/kill shot in past videos from years ago. Was Timbo pointing at him just out of curiosity? Thanks. Fantastic camcorder by the way, super clear and very fluid catching all the quick movements on the court.
