A lot happening in this episode. They figured out that the gauntlet in the Eliminator wasn't working after the first two episodes. Diamond is back, sadly losing Lace. An inspirational Gladiator Moment with Gold. And the agony and the ecstasy in the women's Eliminator. BTW, of random interest with Diamond's return. Her uniform is not only a palette flip of Lace's, but it was actually the uniform Lace was supposed to wear at first. This is verified by Lace's photo on the wall of the Gladiators' locker room, as well as any shots of her both in game and on the box art of the SNES and Genesis video games.

First of all, thank you for providing the necessary instructions to enter American Gladiators. If there's ever a second revival, that will be helpful. Second, that was an agonizing women's eliminator. Jonnie needed to run up the side of the travellator while Patti couldn't clear the first eight foot wall. If the unlimited travellator attempts rule had been in place back then, Patti would've won simply by getting further in the course.

Not true. Under those rules, Patti would have also run out of time and scored no points in the event. That would have left Jonnie as the winner, 30-12.

So sad that Lace was injured, she really bulked up during this season and we wanted to see more of her. Did we ever find out what happened since it was not aired? She did return to the show in the final three episodes which was great that she recovered.

In my opinion, Season 3 was the best overall season for American Gladiators: The right combination of quality contenders, gladiators and events. Yes, I do recall that Lace missed most of this season because of injury; and of course Gold and Turbo missed a lot.

Netflix doc sent me here... I grew up watching the UK import of this show, and I must say in terms of scale I am surprised how small the this original version is. The UK version was shot in an indoor arena that was always packed to the rafters and loud - this is very sober in comparison.

The show was originally conceptualized in a high school gymnasium, so everything had to fit in a fairly confined space. The American show's studio floor was about the size of a basketball court, as a result.

That's not fare. Johny was Givin the go ahead because she couldn't climb the treadmill. Girl in pink wasn't Givin the go ahead because of the wall. She should have been made to climb that treadmill.

That’s always been a rule; contenders have to make at least three attempts on the treadmill before they are allowed to pass it. It comes into play a lot more in later seasons.

He was slammed down in the safety zone and none on that show cares, but if a contestant breaks a rule they are flagged? Turbo was a roid rage freak, with a tiny penis due to the roofs, and couldn't contain himself. American gladiators was nothing more that roid rage vs everyday people. The other thing is they should have been sued so many times.
