@@SUPboardermag Greeting, do you know the Origin version? I'm thinking between Pro 12.6T and Origin 12.6T. The difference is 75 euros. Is the Pro much stiffer and more durable? What I like about Origi is that it has rings for a kayak seat and that it is lighter in color because of the sun.

If you are not too fussed about performance and are searching for an iSUP for fun, the Origin range will be absolutely perfect for your needs. The Pro range is slightly more stiffer and features more refined parts of the board which increases performance. Hope this helps. Thanks, Beau

I seem to be pulled towards the gladiator 10'8'' Origin but have also seen your review of the Bluefin Cruise 10'8''. I would love to hear your comparison of the two? Is the Gladiator a better construction?

Great question Mike. Both are good boards. Bluefin has more fittings on the board so consider if you need to use them. The construction adds a bit more weight too as they use multiple layers and a double chamber. Gladiator are still strong in their construction but you'll get a lighter weight board which may make paddling feel more fun. Hope this helps. Thanks, beau

Additional info…. 1/05/22 At the time these Gladiator range overview videos were filmed (several months ago), SUPboarder was informed Gladiator was a Latvian registered company and at that point the team didn’t look any further into it. More recently, following the start of the conflicts in Ukraine, and online discussions following the videos becoming live, SUPboarder has done further research to understand the background and ownership of the brand. Our research shows that Gladiator is a Latvian registered company, with Iurii Dunin being the owner who lives in Latvia with Latvian residency, Originally born in Russia. The boards are made in a Chinese factory that is owned by Iurii with the help of Aquatech Solutions Limited who are the investment capital from Hong Kong . SUPboarder organised these reviews in autumn 2021 with FC UP, the UK distributor of the brand (a UK company) who manage a lot of the product development and marketing of the brand. We haven't tried a Gong iSUP or heard many reviews about it. Gladiator are making great boards and would be a good choice.

I have a Gladiator Origin 10.8 and the fiberglass paddle cracked both at the handle and at the bottom. Very bad design to be honest. That fiberglass doesnt last long is someone really uses the SUP frequently. Since I bought my Gladiator I made around 40 small 1.5-2 hour trips with it and its already cracked.

Thanks for feeding back. Make sure you check whether it's still in warranty. Might be time for a paddle upgrade that can be well worth it for a nicer paddling experience.
