Very cool!That's a beautiful sword. One of the best looking Gladius swords I've ever seen in fact. I've been thinking that since I like all things sharp and pointy, that I should get a sword. Although for me, it would be just a wall hanger, I would still want it to be fully functional..it just makes it all the more cool. I agree on the handle..if it spins a little in your hand, your next strike could be with the flats instead of the sharp side. Not something you would want in a real battle.

Timbo437 not for nothing, but Cold Steel’s swords are excellent and stout too. I have one and recently got one for my brother in law and both are awesome! And I’m with you, these days all swords are wall hangers but you still want to know you can go to town with it if he’ll is unleashed!

Something people do not realize is traditionally, the Roman Gladius handle is round. Not oval shaped. So TFW makes them the traditional way just to preserve historical accuracy.

I scored a TFW sansabar sword. It’s beautiful and quite a deadly piece.

Not bad but they could take about half an inch off that grip. Would make it more historically accurate.

Sword looks great. But how strong is the tip? Many gladius reproductions have weak tips that damage easily. Can that tip punch through a car hood?

The cross section right at the tip seems pretty stout. Car hood? Probably, though I don't know if the force required would put a bend in the blade at any point.

It is made by sword makers in the Philippines who are aware that it is a working replica of an historical Roman sword.
