Hey there! I've been going to Glamis since I was a baby riding my off road vehicles, the only time you need a "permit" is the during desert season. This is from October-April, you can pick up a simple week pass from off road stores they are $35. Also a big warning not mentioned in the video if you are going within october-april you need to be aware of the traffic on the dunes. It is very dangerous to be walking around on the dunes as people in off-road vehicles may not see you. I always suggest staying at the highest point possible.
