I love this, the work through and flow are things rarely ever shown. The lighting, model and photography is stunning and exemplary. It's just (and I'm sure it's just me) the lips don't seem right. The color is great, I dunno, I know nothing about this side of things. But that isn't what this video is about, it's about the flow and how a shoot works, and I'll be referencing this for a long time to come :) Thankyou :)

A great video that I really enjoyed. The lights are very interesting and very reasonably priced, I’m looking for something I can do more still life with at home when I’m unwell. To me, what makes Chelsea and Tony work so well is it seems there’s almost photographic opposites attracting. Chelsea comes very much from the 'art' direction, her images are always organic and natural. She has shot some of the most beautiful images I’ve seen shot on KZbin, the model with the freckles springs to mind. Tony comes very much from the 'science' perspective and an attention to detail that I’ve only ever seen in people diagnosed as having Asperger’s syndrome. This attention to finite and scientific detail is amazing and a quality I’m totally envious of, it might save me a lot of time in post if I worked on it harder. It would also help me understand the technical aspects of cameras and lenses better. I’m not saying that Chelsea doesn’t have a knowledge of the science or Tony doesn’t understand the Art, there is an obvious middle ground where they overlap. What I’m saying is they make an amazing unit, and together they have amazing strengths that are hard to match as I don’t know another channel that covers such a blanket understanding of photography.

At 9 minutes-- The apparent focal length difference is the focus breathing issue with the Nikon 70-200. I use a Nikon 80-200 D lens which doesn't seem to have that problem.

Hey Tim Kelly has a good idea. He flanks his bg with auto poles, or something like that, it's been years since I've seen the vid. But I use auto poles and then large Home Depot A clamps and stretch those suckers tight. Kelly does that with muslins and makes them shoot like canvas. I want Annie Leibovitz's old beat up green canvas back drop that you see in so many of her shots. 90% of the time I'm using paper now so it doesn't matter.

Me being a model i can tell you at the initial shoots, a model is always nervous and confused about facing the camera ... But with more professional shoots she learns and her expression improves posture improves and she faces the camera gracefully ... Emily is still young... A small town girl like me... Who might have the erge to shoot but obviously lack of guidance... Miss. Chelsea is a good guide for her i see... Please dont compare Miss Chelsea with Emily as you cant compare a fruit with a bud ...

Why did you go with a camera other than the 5DSR to begin with?
@TheKnut8 жыл бұрын
Maybe because of the huge file size. It's a pain to work with these in Lightroom. It was not necessary to have huge file sizes for this shoot I guess.
@EvilNeedle908 жыл бұрын
Well the file size of a Nikon D810 isn't small either..
@GBftw8 жыл бұрын
But if your not gunna use the 5DSR in the studio there is almost no point owning one.
@iSOBigD8 жыл бұрын
Sometimes they're used to a camera and just use that. The D810 is great for studio work and landscapes just like the 5DSR, but I believe the 70-200mm canon and nikon lenses have different reaches too so that can throw you off.

Very nice, but where's Justin? If you missed him too, here's something to make it up for him! JUSTIN (lead cool guy): I'm always around the house with my camera on, you never know what you may come across. I enjoy sneaking up people's back while they take pictures of other people, and I can't stop myself from busting balls to whoever brings sunglasses from the 80s thinking they are cool. I mean, dude, did you just arrive with Marty McFly?
