34 years being referred to was one of the best ever governance in the country in terms of absence of financial irregularities among ministers ,in terms of enhancement of power capacity ,in terms of land reforms, in terms of recruitment of teachers, officers, police etc. Though industrialisation was not as much as Gujarat or Maharashtra still there was visible progress as for eg Haldia Peto amidst hostility of Indira Gandhi towards the state imposition of freight equalisation .
