The dentist drill used sound like that immediately took me back to being in that chair - I wish I had brushed my teeth better back in 60s

John, I've watched this video a half dozen times it is so helpful, but I swear to the stars you forgot to put glue on the neck block!

So much good information. Love the parallel pencil tip. My first guitar had a "twist" that is a little annoying but it still plays okay. Just not the quality you want. Practice makes better.

John, these halo patterns are real time savers, that's awesome! I figured maybe you could also use them as cauls to glue the plates on the go-bar deck, what do you think?

absolutely anything that makes the process repeatable

I guess halos for top and back could be traced from the full size pattern onto 3/8" plywood, I sure do like your idea of not having to crawl around inside the body with the top or back plate sort of hanging in place while trying to mark the places where the braces are suppose to be set into the kerfing
@tippie539 жыл бұрын
you can make them out of anything. You are right , it is nice to have a solid point for reference for the kerfed lining

I'm a complete novice learning everything I can before starting my first build . So excuse this if it's a dumb question ....but why not leave on the rim while clamping the top and back plates to avoid any shifting of the sides ? Thanks so much for your videos , I'm learning so much ! Keep em coming !

I am not 100% sure what you are asking but the halo would not allow the plate to join on the ribs . The mold will keep the sides from moving also. If this doesn't answer your question please keep asking till we do. Also check out the Kit Guitar forum site we are here to help thanks for the interest john

blues creek guitars excuse the confusion , during applying the clamps you removed the "mold" after gluing the top on . Which Allowed A Shift In the sides , why not leave the mold in place until all the glue joints are cured ? Again I'm learning , do excuse me for maybe a dumb question
@bluescreekguitars33469 жыл бұрын
Jay Rogers I usually do. I don't take the mold off till the back and side are glued. Check out the other vids . You will see that

Thanks I use go bars to close up the box . Here I was going to use the Bar clamps , but they wouldn't fit over the mold and I had to keep going.

Sorry for the nit-picking but it's "gluing," not "glueing."
