At 8hrs old, I was transferred from Rottenrow to Oakbank. I had spina bifida. Mr Anderson was the surgeon. He saved my life, so the Oakbank pics really mean something to me.

I doff my cap once again to the fantastic picture you always put on display Glasgow photographs.. Happy memories of better days, and when the council had both the finances & manpower to keep the streets & pavements litter free, unlike the 21st century depression we live in nowadays..👍👍👏👏 Please keep the memories coming.. and thanks once again for sharing..👍👍

Another banging collection. I went to Holy Cross school. There were actually 3 of them. Daisy street was the infants school. Hollybrook street was the primary school and Calder street (we called it Batson street) was in the middle but I would say more connected to the primary school than the Infants school. Glasgow really had some beautiful looking Victorian/Edwardian school buildings, many of them gone now.

The cash register shop that I first started work in (worked for 30yrs 😮) was 690 Rutherglen rd.
