As a diehard since Pools-even before Zaba!-I've been here for every release, always craving more. I remember making a "Fresh Fruit" folder (that's the FF on the album cover) alongside Zaba and the EPs for this track, Love Lockdown and Lose Control. This one especially is a genius cover, and Love Lockdown is better than the original. The rap with Joey Bada$$ was a cool foreshadowing. These FF between-album singles always give a neat heads up on the coming sound as well as a preview at the art style/logo for the new album era. Even Tokyo Driftin and I Don't Wanna Talk have the Fresh Fruit label on their covers in evolving style. Latest similar such release, I'd say, is the Spotify-exclusive Solar Power, though it's not F. F.

Can tell that some of you didn’t grow up with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs 😅 Gold Lion fucking slaps and there’s a reason they’ve kept it on their setlist for 17 years, it’s insane live. I love both compositions and many years ago, I also tried my hand at a cover, but I found out I have neither the production skills nor the vocal range to properly give the song what it deserves 😅 I’m glad Dave loves it as much as I love it, and has the musical talent to back it up and a better vocal range than I do!
